Felice SteFedericavens, for me is a guarantee. I read everything she wrote in the past year and I like her books very much, they are all wonderful and this one is no exception. I start by saying that the cover is beautiful, perhaps the best one so far. We had already met the protagonists in the first book of the series. Alex is Micah’s best friend from the time of the school of medicine, he had appeared in the previous book as a lightweight character, always ready to joke and be sociable, but appearancesOSF Teaser 1 are often deceiving. In this book, Mrs Stevens gives him a thickness and a very troubled history that we never imagined. Rafe is a veterinarian friend of Micah’s husband, Josh, a man reserved and shy with a stuttering problem, when he’s nervous. At first he can not believe that Alex is interested in someone like him, but throughout history we find that they are more similar than it appears. Alex has to learn to open up and show his true self while Rafe, after years in which he has been marginalized and betrayed by the people, must learn to trust in others. Both have very bad family relationships OSF Teaser5.2which have created deep wounds in them. Rafe’s parents, even if they did not appear directly, are odious, we would be screaming at them and Alex’s father, is one of the most evil and unpleasant characters that has ever existed. It’s inconceivable that you would treat your own son that way, although unfortunately it happens all too often. The story is well constructed, the characters and dynamics, are absolutely credible. The relationship that develops between Alex and Rafe is beautiful, made of moments of sweetness and moments of very hotness. More than once in the course of reading this book, I felt butterflies in my stomach, and this is one of the things I love about Ms Stevens, she manages to make you feel the emotions like you were really living them.

Author GraphicI have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. I started reading traditional historical romances when I was a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn’t until I picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth’s court that my interest in romance novels became renewed.

But somewhere along the way, my tastes shifted. While I still enjoys a juicy Historical romance, I began experimenting with newer, more cutting edge genres and discovered the world of Male/Male romance. Once I picked up her first, I became so enamored of the authors, the character-driven stories and the overwhelming emotion of the books, I knew I wanted to write my own.

I live in New York City with my husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of my own. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be angst along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.
