RELEASE DATE: August 1st, 2015
BLURB: Werewolf Locke Renfro has spent most of his life hunting and killing rogue werewolves — vicious murderers who take pleasure in causing misery and destroying lives. Including his own when they slaughtered his parents. After a rogue bites his lover, it triggers the process of turning him into a rogue also and Locke must kill the only man he ever thought he’d love. Years later, the fates have finally given him a mate — smart, funny and sexy Mitch Devan. Locke is afraid to seal their bond, though, terrified that it will make Mitch a target of rogues who despise him — who would love nothing better than to murder his soulmate.
Mitch Devan has spent so long waiting for Locke Renfro to claim him as his own that he’s not sure everything will work properly if the time finally arrives. But Locke has slain more than his share of rogues; he is convinced that mating with Mitch will put the human at the top of the rogues’ revenge hit list. Mitch isn’t sure that would be any worse than his platonic existence with the man he adores. When a simple business trip lands him in grave danger, Mitch finds out exactly how far Locke will go to retrieve the key to his heart.
Loyalties are tested and enemies are revealed, as the Skull Blaster team comes together to rescue their own.
It’s finally Mitch’s time, I waited so long for this book and now I’m totally satisfied.
Our poor Mitch does not know how to topple Locke, it is frustrating to be kept at a distance despite knowing the feelings between them. But Locke is determined to resist, to keep him safe, he has already lost too many important people in his life and he doesn’t want to take chances with Mitch. But things are likely to get out of hand and the result may not be what he hoped.
You might think, that at the 24th book in the series, there aren’t many surprises left anymore, but Sandrine Gasq Dion is very good in keeping the reader on the knife’s edge, she is able to keep the story flowing, so we find ourselves immersed in the story, as if we hadn’t waited months to read it
For me, every time I start a new book in this series it’s like meeting old friends again, and what friends!!! Sexy, hot and viscious, but with a great sense of fraternity between them.
I’ve found this book more sentimental than others in the series, the plot is outlined adventurous and obviously accompanies the story, but this time, there is more attention, on one hand focusing on the love between Locke and Mitch and the other on the friendship between this extraordinary group. We find them all, our fellow Skull Bluster, with their husbands.
This doesn’t mean that there are no surprises, because there are. I don’t want to do spoilers, I can only say I risked a heart attack at some point and that Locke’s feelings were described so well that they seemed so real, enough to take my breath away for a few pages.
If you love this series you cannot miss this wonderful book, if you haven’t already started hurry up!!! I know it may seem like a Herculean task, but once started you won’t be able to stop.
