BLURB: After months of recovering from his injuries, Seth struggles with who he has become. Afloat in a reality he never planned, he tries to find the lost pieces of himself again. Find the purpose, motivation, and strength to get back into shape. He is sick and tired of being a burden for Domenico, who seems to have it all together. When Domenico’s jealousy pushes them into the spotlight of a biker gang with connections to their former mafia family, Seth decides to step up, and make his own decisions, no matter what risks they might entail.
Domenico Acerbi can’t trust anyone. Nightmares of Seth’s torture are still haunting his dreams, and if he and Seth are to leave the country quietly and disappear off the mafia’s radar, he needs to stay in charge and keep everyone under control. What he doesn’t need is Seth giving him attitude, keeping secrets, and distancing himself for no reason. And as if Domenico didn’t have enough on his plate already, Seth forces him to help some hooker. Being stuck in the swamp with a kid hunted by a bunch of bikers is not Domenico’s idea of laying low.
Some time ago, my friends @boymeetsboyreviews were horrified that I hadn’t read The Merikans! I immediately put that to rights and never looked back. Now, my reaction is exactly the same as theirs -‐ What? You don’t know The Merikans! This writing duo needs to be read by anyone that loves romance, so do yourselves a big favour and check them out now!
And so finally my Boys are back! I have to say that my Merikan Idols delivered BIG TIME on this one, they didn’t skimp on anything, including the length of the book, it’s very long and talking of length and longness -‐ is Dom getting sexier every book? or is that my own fantasy coming to life?
Dom and Seth are still trying to make it to Mexico but with Seth trying to recover from the horrendous torture he suffered, (and believing that his beloved Dom couldn’t possibly want him now that his body has been ravaged) their progress is slow. And Dom? Well, he’s as arrogant as ever (as if he could be anything else!) but…he holds himself totally responsible for Seth’s injuries and thinks that maybe he is losing Seth’s love… A drunken Seth decides to play “hero” much to Dom’s horror and the merry band of three (yes Dana is still with them but I’m really not sure about her?) suddenly becomes four! They save 16 year old Mark and Seth immediately takes him under his wing but Dom is not happy, especially as Mark seems to do his hardest to keep Dom from having his wicked way with Seth. But Dom is Dom, his natural jealous behaviour and his magnificent rages, combined with some ingenious “role playing” soon has Seth exactly where Dom wants him!
The heat between these two, yet again, is combustible and both are very willing and very
able to light that match to set off the explosion!
I don’t do spoilers, but as there is so much going on and I want everyone to read this series, so – The Coffin Nails MC are back….with a tank! Yep, you read that right. A tank…. and it comes in rather useful.
Overall in summing up, an outstanding read. The Authors bringing in The Coffin Nails was an inspirational idea and worked so well. Mark’s character added substance to the storyline even though he took the limelight off Dom and Seth a little bit. My beloved Seth seems to “man up” with every book and really showed Dom that he could rely on him when things get “tricky”. As I said already, not sure about Dana, I think she has her own agenda but if it’s in Dom’s and Seth’s best interests? we will have to wait and see. Also, the two brothers in the MC? again, I get the feeling that something is not quite right there? Hmmmm…. But Dom is the man for me and always will be. I loved every word, so much happening but never OTT, the chemistry between Dom and Seth sizzling and getting better with every book. I can’t wait to read the next one!
No hesitation in awarding 5*
