When Eli Block steps into his parents’ living room and sees his childhood crush sitting on the couch, he starts a shameless campaign to seduce the young rabbi. Unfortunately, Seth Cohen barely remembers Eli and he resolutely shuts down all his advances. As a tenuous and then binding friendship forms between the two men, Eli must find a way to move past his unrequited love while still keeping his best friend in his life. Not an easy feat when the same person occupies both roles.
Professional, proper Seth is shocked by Eli’s brashness, overt sexuality, and easy defiance of societal norms. But he’s also drawn to the happy, funny, light-filled man. As their friendship deepens over the years, Seth watches Eli mature into a man he admires and respects. When Seth finds himself longing for what Eli had so easily offered, he has to decide whether he’s willing to veer from his safe life-plan to build a future with Eli.
*Walk With Me is set in the Home series where the books are linked by theme or world. They are independent and can be read in any order.
They said that you never forget your first love and it’s really true, Cardeno C introduced me to my first love – m/m romances. The very first m/m romance I read was “Where He Ends and I Begin” by the wonderful Cardeno and I can’t thank this Author enough for not only introducing me to this genre but also opening my pathway to all the other amazing books within this category.
Walk With Me is the 7th book in this marvellous “Home” series (don’t worry if you haven’t read any of the others yet, this book can be very successfully as a stand alone)and it’s the story of Eli and Seth.
Eli has been in love with Seth for what feels like forever, however, Seth believes that Eli is young and has yet to discover his sexuality, but also more importantly, Seth himself has never had an interest whatsoever in other men, so he keeps Eli at a distance. But this doesn’t stop the two from developing the birth of a beautiful friendship between the two.
As the years so by and their friendship only deepens, Seth feelings towards Eli start to change, he wants more and can’t deny his feelings about Eli anymore.
We are then treated to a very descriptive and extremely hilarious wedding and this is where we witness a beautiful and wonderful love story of these two men.
This is an audiobooks, normally I’m not very fond of audiobooks because I build an image in my mind of the character, very similar to when you read a book and then you watch the movie – if the voice is not right for the narration, it’s like thinking that the actor was not right for that particular role in a film.
But I was wrong! I shouldn’t have worried, the narrator (Alexander Collin) did a truly amazing job. He give life to this book, it was if I had closed my eyes and they came alive – Eli and Seth right in front of me, it was so real.
The speech was clear, with the right modulation to give tempo to the dialogue, in fact, it was almost perfect.
If I was rating the book, it would have been 4 stars, but due to Alexander Collins superb narration, it’s gotta be 5 stars from me and Alexander can Walk With Me anytime!
Cardeno C. – CC to friends – is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few “awwws” into a reader’s day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno’s stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever- after sunset.
Cardeno’s Home, Family, and Mates series have received awards from Love Romances and More Golden Roses, Rainbow Awards, the Goodreads M/M Romance Group, and various reviewers. But even more special to CC are heartfelt reactions from readers, like, “You bring joy and love and make it part of the every day.”
