BLURB:It could be curtains for college theatre professor Nicky Abbondanza. With dead bodies popping up all over campus, Nicky must use his drama skills to figure out who is playing the role of murderer before it is lights out for Nicky and his colleagues. Complicating matters is Nicky’s huge crush on Noah Oliver, a gorgeous assistant professor in his department, who may or may not be involved with a cocky graduate assistant…and is also the top suspect for the murders! You will be applauding and shouting Bravo for Joe Cosentino’s fast-paced, side-splittingly funny, edge-of-your-seat, delightfully entertaining novel. Curtain up!
Without doubt the funniest book I have read this year, maybe ever? It just cracked me up, I had tears of laughter rolling down my face – people started to stare, so make a note <do not read in public>
This is a “whodunnit” storyline, but it reminded me of a traditional British “Farce”, it was highly exaggerated, very extravagant and of course, totally improbable – I loved every dam word, couldn’t get enough, it was brilliant. The Cast of Characters was long and I have to say that everyone of them was on my list of “who done it “ at some stage, I really didn’t have a clue as to who the culprit was, so well done Author, I normally pride myself of knowing exactly where the Author is going to go, but not on this one!
There was also skeletons coming out of people’s cupboards left/right and centre and let’s not talk about their sex lives…..oh well, if you insist – it’s more of a “who-done-who-when-and-where!” boy, oh boy, it was getting hard to keep up.
Unlike a true Farce, this did have a comprehensible storyline, Nicky and Noah are two Gay academics. They use their brain-power to deduce who was doing the killing(s) and why? Nicky knows that Noah is innocent but can they prove it? So many leads, so many dead ends, bodies dropping like flies (maybe a bit overkill, but you get the sentiment), it was fast and furious, but we were still given Nicky and Noah time and for that I was glad, they needed their time, to explore their feelings and I needed that too, so again, thank you Author.
This is the second book of Joe Cosentino that I have read, both so very different but both highly enjoyable. Gotta be 5* from me, not had so much fun in ages and I never did guess who it was!
****I would like to thank the author for the opportunity and privilege of reviewing this ARC. My opinions of this book, were entirely my own.****
