BLURB: Recently returned to the UK after living in the States since he was eleven, Andrew Barrett is determined to keep busy and make a new life for himself. He works full time as a copywriter and strips at a club on Canal Street on weekends. But it still leaves him too much time to think. Then he finds the BDSM club, Collars & Cuffs, where at twenty-nine, he is their youngest Dom. Young doesn’t mean inexperienced, however. All this activity keeps him focused with no time to dwell on the past. But the past has a way of intruding on the present.
It’s been four long years since Gareth Michaels last set foot inside Collars & Cuffs. But when he finally summons his courage and steps back into his former world, he finds the man who drove him away is still a member, and what’s more, he wants Gareth back. Two men in pain need the freedom they find in each other, but it takes another man’s horrific plans to make them see it.
I really enjoyed this story. It’s been a while since I read the first couple of books in the series and it is great to meet so many characters from the previous stories. I love the connection, the friendship among these great guys. They are like a real, big family and I like how much they care about the others. Master Andrew is a wonderful addition to this amazing group of men, becoming a member of this diverse family.
To tell you the truth this book was so much better than I expected. I usually love and fear to read BDSM stories, because my taste is kinda picky, there’re some kinks I don’t care for, some language I don’t enjoy in my BDSM books. This one totally is for my taste. Although the plot often takes us to the club, there are few whole Scenes, but that’s all we need here. The ones we have are well written, intriguing, exciting and truly hot.
The plot mostly focuses on how Andrew creates his new life in Manchester, how he finds his job, his friends, how he joins Collars & Cuffs. The development of his friendship with fellow stripper, Gareth, is the focal point of the book. Both men carry heavy emotional baggage from their pasts and their building friendship is turning something much more, slowly, step by step. This was a totally new concept for me, as Andrew and Gareth are friends first, then they become lovers, the question is whether they can be each other’s perfect match in the BDSM scene. Both men crave this kind of connection and they are willing to fight for their happiness against their own hurt, painful past and a dangerous, unexpected enemy.
The writing is great, the story flows nicely, the conversations are well done, except some of the “educational ones”. Those ones seemed a little forced for me. Andrew and Gareth have great chemistry. That seducing dance is one of the hottest scenes I’ve ever read. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
****I would like to thank the Author for the opportunity and privilege of reading this ARC. My review was an honest opinion of the book****
