BLURB: Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.
Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.
Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend…and a big one to learn about himself.
One book, two reviewers! Did our reviewers here at Threebooksovertherainbow, agree or did they read the same book, but take away something different, read and find out.
Jaime Canning and Ryan “Wes” Westley, have been the best of friends since they met at a Hockey Camp, they ended up spending the Sumer together and then every summer after that until they graduated from High School. They both shared their love of Hockey and then out of the blue, Ryan disappeared – no words of goodbye, nothing! Jaime is of course totally bewildered, he can’t understand what happened? What he doesn’t know is that Wes is ashamed, he thinks he took advantage of Jaime through a bet that they had had, so he just left, he couldn’t face Jaime, so he thought it better to leave!
Now after 4 years, they are reunited and this time, Ryan can’t keep away. They start to rebuild their relationship, but it soon becomes apparent that there’s something more between them. At first, it was all a bit of a joke, but then it became very serious.
This is a very sweet GFY (gay for you) storyline. Jaime and Wes were wonderful MCs, very different personalities etc. but so made for each other, two halves of a whole. At first, maybe you would assume that Wes was the stronger one? but he’s not, he’s fragile and terribly lonely and maybe that’s due to his family – cold and very distant, whereas Jaime’s family is big and very affectionate.
There’s strong chemistry between these two, the sexual relationship was quite hot, but personally I liked the emotions which transpired from each page of this wonderful book – I liked how they build their relationship. Jaime was a very brave guy, he did struggle with his attraction to Wes, before he was only attracted to women but he had the courage to face his feelings for Wes.
If you want a sweet love story, with hot guys and a perfect HEA, then you absolutely have to download this book onto your kindle, you won’t be disappointed!
First time read for me for either of these Authors and I have a question? Are they cloned? They have to be, there is no other logical explanation as to how two writers can write so cohesively together, I never knew where one stopped and the other started, whose input was who’s? It was really amazing and therefore a pleasure to read.
Ryan and Jamie only ever met at a summer camp for a hockey programme. Those two months every year, made them the best of friends. Something happens (sorry, no spoilers from me) and “Wes” (Ryan) ends their friendship. Jamie doesn’t understands and to say he is left bewildered is the understatement of the century!
Four years later Wes still has feelings for Jamie, he accepts that Jamie is straight but wishes that things could have been different. As luck would have it, they meet again at a hockey tournament and this is where things get really interesting!
By this stage, Jamie knows that Wes is gay and maybe explains why he ended their friendship, but what he really doesn’t understand , is his own attraction to him now!
That’s it! That’s all I’m going to giveaway on the storyline, but I have to say, that I’m a real sucker where it comes to GFY and these two Authors, took it to a whole new level – it was hot, so sexy, two great MCs (both different in their attitudes but so great for each other) and as a reader, I really felt their love. Well done Authors, you did an amazing job. I fell in love with the storyline as well as Wes and Jamie.
Five “cloned” stars from me, anything less would be an insult to the Authors.
