BLURB: If short-tempered Jason can open his heart and life to optimistic Abe, he might finally find the family he craves.
Short-tempered, arrogant heart surgeon Jason Garcia grew up wanting a close-knit family, but believes he ruined those dreams when he broke up his marriage. The benefit of divorce is having as much random sex as he wants, and it’s a benefit Jason is exploiting when he meets a sweet, shy man at a bar and convinces him to go home for a no-strings-attached night of fun.
Eight years living in Las Vegas hasn’t dimmed Abe Green’s optimism, earnestness, or desire to find the one. When a sexy man with lonely eyes propositions him, Abe decides to give himself a birthday present—one night of spontaneous fun with no thoughts of the future. But one night turns into two and then three, and Abe realizes his heart is involved.
For the first time, Abe feels safe enough with someone he respects and adores to let go of his inhibitions in the bedroom. If Jason can get past his own inhibitions and open his heart and his life to Abe, he might finally find the family he craves.
Cardeno C. is my number one author when I want to read real, heartwarming romance, with lots of heart, lots of love, lots of hot sex, and minimal angst. Half of Us is one of these stories and more…
Jason is a heart surgeon working long, demanding hours, getting his rocks off with nameless hook-ups when the urge comes, never meeting the same guy twice. Abe is a sweet, high school math teacher, looking for real love. He is celebrating his birthday with some friends when he bumps into Jason and wanting to do something wild and out of character, he invites him home.
We are taken on an amazing ride along with Jason and Abe. We get to witness how their first chance meeting and one night stand, the second night then the third turn into a deepening connection, a real relationship both of them crave. We get to see how these seemingly totally different guys can start a relationship and make it work. The plot is masterfully built, their love story and Jason’s family storyline wonderfully woven together giving a heartwarming reading experience.
The writing is flawless as always. The conflicts are real and believable. The chemistry between Jason and Abe is truly over the top. I enjoyed every page of this book.
Half of Us is a wonderful addition to the Family Collection. Highly recommended!
