For Jed, the Coffin Nails Motorcycle Club is family. With them, he learned how to think, what to enjoy, and how to fight, but there is one thing he knows his friends can’t find about. They would never accept him as gay, and so his life is a constant struggle with desires that fill him with despair. Only there is a much darker secret lurking in Jed’s heart. His feelings for his stepbrother, Ryder, go far beyond brotherly. Trapped with a yearning that can never be fulfilled, Jed spirals out of control and unwillingly puts the love of his life in danger. Ryder is climbing up the ranks. Recently promoted to sergeant-at-arms, he has it all: drive, respect, and the love of his biker family. When his stepbrother gets into trouble with the law, Ryder decides to take the blame and save him from a long sentence. Deep inside, he knows there is nothing he wouldn’t do for Jed, but through a desperate attempt to suppress his own hidden desires, he might irreversibly break the man he secretly loves. But finding out what they feel for each other will test their loyalty to the Coffin Nails MC and change their lives irreversibly.

I knew it! I said in my review of Swamp Blood that there was something going on with the step brothers?  and I was right!

It’s now their turn to get their story and what a story it is – brothers in love! Not as taboo as it first seems, there is no blood link between the two, its more in the realms of a lust/love link, which is unbreakable.  No matter how many steps they take to keep away, those steps only bring them closer.

Ryder is the ambitious one, he is now Sergeant in Arms and is aiming higher, much higher and on the way to the top, he wants to make the Club a financial success. He is no angel, he can be ruthless and cold-blooded when the need arises and trust me on this, it does arise!  The only clink in his suit of armour is Jedd – his self destructive brother, who he secretly lusts after.

Jedd has always loved Ryder, his pent up anger and sexual frustrations is slowly but surely destroying him – he can’t take much more.

But this book is so much more than the two brothers trying to hide their feelings from each other and then their father and then Club. The shit is about to hit the fan and those lethal fan blades are going to spread it everywhere!

Firstly, the Club is in financial trouble – they are even considering selling the tank! and if that’s not bad enough, Dana – the evil, ruthless, deceitful bitch that she is, is blackmailing Jedd.  A baby is on the way (let’s make that two) and The Man from Columbia is coming!

Can Ryder hold the Club together to seal the deal with The Man from Columbia? Can he also save Jedd from destroying himself and have him as his own?  and if he succeeds, can he persuade their homophobic father and the Club Brothers to accept them?  and of course, there is the little matter of Dana……..

For me, the ending was the only way this story could go – you did well Authors, very well.

The Merikans yet again rocked my world, their sex scenes get hotter and better with every book, as do their storylines. This can be read as a stand alone, in case you were wondering.

Highly recommended.

5 steps to perfection stars from me.
