BLURB: What happens when happily ever after ends in heartbreak?
After surviving a harrowing ordeal in Las Vegas, Javi Campos and Adam Brand seemed destined for a lifetime of love. However, life and insecurities got in the way, and Javi left, nearly destroying Adam in the process.
They’ve spent ten years apart, but circumstances bring them together again. Now a personal escort, Javi is terrified when his companion for the evening is killed in the bed they shared. As the obvious suspect, he turns to the only man in Portland he knows he can trust…his former lover, Adam.
Adam is shocked to hear from Javi, but he believes in him and agrees to help. The investigation takes them into the backstabbing world of Big Pharma as well as the religious homophobic culture of Russian Old Believers. While attempting to find the real killer, Adam and Javi have no choice but to deal with their lingering feelings for each other.
The situation might be the catalyst they need to finally find their long-awaited happily ever after. But first they have to solve the case before either one of them becomes the next victim.
“Hiding in Plain Sight” is the sequel of “Vegas Hustle”, but if you haven’t read it don’t worry, neither had I and this reads really good as a stand alone. I already have the first one on my list, this is so good that I need to know how it all started.
Javi and Adam seems destined to a happy life together but out of the blue, Javi left, leaving Adam only a message in which he told him not to search for him, he totally disappeared.
This is the prologue of that story, now after 10 years Adam still hasn’t forgotten Javi, he really can’t move on.
Javi moved to Seattle and became a professional escort and often travel to Portland, where Adam now lives, to meet Ev, a regular customer of his who works for the big Pharma Company.
One night he find his companion for the night killed in the bed they have shared. Scared, the only person he can think of to call, his former lover Adam, the only man he completely trust, and maybe still love?
Sure, at the beginning it’s a shock for Adam, but he can’t refuse his help to the only man he has ever loved.
Together they begin to investigate between the world of Big Pharma as well as the religious homophobic culture of Russian Old Believers, which Ev’s family belonged too.
Cory, Adam’s best friend since college, and who help him when he was left with a broken heart, is mad when he discovers Adam is helping Javi. Adam’s father is not thrilled either.
During their investigation, Adam and Javi get closer to the danger and also closer to each other, maybe there is still hope for them together.
The feelings between the two men are still alive.
I can’t tell anything else about the story to not spoil the fun.
The rhythm of the story is well built, exciting and addictive. I was glued to the pages to see who was guilty. I have to tell you that you will like both the investigative part and also the romance, it’s very well written and the end is very satisfying
Definitely a series that I would recommend.
