BLURB: Aggressive, physical, and brave, Jake Owens is a small town football hero turned big city cop who passes his time with meaningless encounters believing he can’t have who he really wants: Nate Richardson, his best friend since before forever. Thoughtful, quiet, and kind, Nate is a brilliant doctor who has always known who he is and has never been able to shake his crush on loyal, courageous, straight Jake.

After a passionate night together, Nate realizes Jake isn’t as straight as he assumed, but he worries that what they shared was a fluke, a result of too much closeness for too long. For Jake, the question isn’t how they ended up in bed together because he has always known that Nate holds his heart; it’s how he’ll convince Nate that he wants and needs to stay there.

Cardeno C ruined me! and I’m going to tell you why……every reader has that one special book, their first book that they fell in love with and this book was my first love.  It was 2012 and this was my first m/m romance that I had read translated into Italian.

Yep, she ruined me, now I can’t read anything else!

Nate and Jake’s story is just so sweet and wonderful, I have lost count of the number of times that I have read it, I believe I know it off by heart now.

Nate and Jake have been friends forever – their parents were friends, they were born on the same day and have been together ever since, they shared both the good times and the bad times.

Nate is gay and has fought his attraction and love for Jake all his life. Jake is straight, Nate cannot take a chance and ruin their friendship.  But Cardeno C is devilishly clever, what if everything you have always believed, wasn’t really real at all?

During a holiday together, their relationship changes completely – Jake declares his love for Nate! Nate finally has what he wants, but is it really real?

Jake is so much more stronger than Nate. He’s a cop, very good looking and would be described as a “man’s man”, lol.  Whereas, Nate is a doctor and believes that Jake’s declaration is only a thing of the moment, it couldn’t possibly be anything else.  But Jake will fight for what he wants and he wants Nate.  He has loved him his whole life and is now tired of hiding who he is and more importantly, who he wants.

This very sweet story is about friendships and soul mates. Not only is their love deep and intense, their sex life is scorching hot!

The story is told from both POVs, the narrator did a fantastic job in delivering this, he made it appear so easy, which shows his professionalism as it could have gone the other way and totally confused the listeners.

Alexander Collins deep, warm voice, gave life and credence to the characters, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to his voice . In my opinion, if you can’t have a movie, the next best thing is an audiobook, it truly does immerse you into the storyline.

I’m sure most of you would have read this book and I know you are going to love the audio version, all you have to do is close your eyes and listen…..

Cardeno C - Logo

Cardeno C. – CC to friends – is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few “awwws” into a reader’s day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno’s stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever-after sunset.

Cardeno’s Home, Family, and Mates series have received awards from Love Romances and More Golden Roses, Rainbow Awards, the Goodreads M/M Romance Group, and various reviewers. But even more special to CC are heartfelt reactions from readers, like, “You bring joy and love and make it part of the every day.”
