BLURB: Marcus has just become the only human ever to be Alpha of a werewolf pack and thwarted the plans of Anubis to destroy the goddess Sirius’ creation – the werewolves.

Now, Anubis has decided to focus his efforts instead on Marcus and his new pack, to try and destroy the pack from within. In order to do this, Anubis seeks the one thing Marcus wants above all else and when he finds it, will use that to get him to walk away from his mates and the pack.

Unaware of the evil god’s plans, Marcus works together with Kellan and Ricoh, not only trying to help Nate recover from the vicious torture he has undergone at the hands of the terrorist group, The Winter Circle, but to also come to terms with leading a pack of over two thousand wolves.

Marcus soon will be faced with a dilemma, but will he give everything up for his mates and the pack or will the temptation Anubis offers him be too much for one human to refuse? Will Marcus put his wolves before himself or will he be tricked into leaving them behind forever?

#Team Marcus. #Team Marcus.  #TeamMarcus

Is it possible to give an unbiased review when I’m such a #TeamMarcus fan?  Of course not.  So I’m just going to pay tribute and applaud the author for not only writing this amazing storyline but the entire series as well.

This book continues immediately from book 4, so I strongly suggest that you read in order. It’s going to be a reading journey that will stay with you for a very long time.

So let’s talk about the book, you have to hand it to Anubis, he certainly never gives up and has this uncanny knack of finding weakness and exploiting it for his own nefarious deeds. He knows that Marcus, his mates Kellan, Ricoh and Nate have been through so much and are now trying to heal, their love for each other, better than any medicine.  But the turmoil of the past, the burden of responsibility, weighs heavily on Marcus – doubt has set in.  Is he really the right person to lead his wolves?  How can three extraordinary wolves love a crippled human?  Anubis, the master manipulator pounces on Marcus’s self-doubt and offers a tempting carrot to entice Marcus away.  Will Marcus succumb to the lure he so desperately wants?

The author masterfully executed her storyline, questions were answered and some new ones raised. This is not a quick-wham-thank-you-mam read, it’s far too complex for that.  So much is happening, you need to take your time to relish and savour the revelations as they come thick and fast, which leads me nicely onto the sex scenes – boy-oh-boy, they were hot and plentiful.

I was held enthralled throughout, never really sure with this author if she was going to drop another bombshell (don’t worry, she didn’t) but have to say, she does love to tease her readers and keep them on their toes, but she did good on this one, really good.

The whole series has been astonishing, I’ve loved every book (even the bombshell one), but as I said at the beginning, I’m a #TeamMarcus fan, so for me, it was perfection.  It takes the No. 1 spot for being the best in the series so far, especially with the little surprises at the end.

No dilemma whatsoever in deciding rating grades – Five polyamory #TeamMarcus stars from me.
