BLURB: Isaac Hawk’s life wasn’t going as planned. He was living in a crummy apartment with a future career that left him feeling empty inside and a love life that had him feeling even emptier. On a whim, he decides to drop out of the police academy so that he can at least try and fix one aspect of his crumbling future. The only problem with his rash decision? A negative balance in his bank account and no way to pay for rent.

Diego Cruz seemed to have things set. He was on his way to Rome so he could bring home an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics. His mind and body were honed in and focused on that one goal. He was going to make all the sacrifices in his life mean something by competing and coming out on top. He was determined to find a reason to move past the deep regret of leaving Isaac the way he had all those years ago.

When Isaac reluctantly accepts a job working as security for the American gymnastics team, he knew his path would cross with Diego’s. What he wasn’t expecting was the flood of emotions that would overpower the both of them after their chance encounter. Things are made more complicated by the obsessive behavior on display from Diego’s ex-boyfriend.

Isaac and Diego will each have to face their past and realize that sometimes you have to hold on to those second chances with an eagle grip.

EAGLE GRIP is a hot and steamy, gay romance novel with no cliffhangers. It is the third book in The Guardian series but can be read as a standalone.

lorraineI love stepping into the world’s that Max Walker creates, this time it’s the very topical world of the Olympics.  What I really like about this author is his ability to keep a storyline simple, he doesn’t need OTT sensationalism to deliver his stories, his strength is on well researched, sexy, engrossing plots, that leave you thinking of when his next book is due out?

With the Olympics in full swing, I was in seventh heaven, watching and having my kindle in hand (looking to see if his research I mentioned, was as meticulous as I thought it was and from what I could see of the gymnastics – it was), so I could sit back, see the realities but get lost in the fictional world of Isaac and Diego.

Isaac Hawk and Diego Cruz, though very young, are in love.  They both have their dreams and for Diego, that includes winning Isaac forever and a Gold Medal at the Olympics.

However, when Diego’s parents catch them together in his bedroom, Isaac’s dreams are shattered…..Diego leaves him!

The story then picks up about 6 years later.  Those 6 years have not been good for Isaac, drifting along without any real sense of direction, without Diego, he is lost.  Out of the blue he’s offered a job as Security for the Olympic Team (yeah I know, with all the upheaval in the world today, it would never happen, but hey, this is sexy fiction, so acceptable in my book, or Max Walker’s book, lol) and you’ve guessed it, Diego is on the Team looking for his Gold Medal.

Isaac has been bitten once and it nearly destroyed him, will he give Diego the chance to explain what happened that eventful night?  Will Diego get that all important Gold Medal or is Isaac more important to win back?  And what about Diego’s psycho ex who wants him back?  Read it yourself to find out.

I’ve already mentioned how the author keeps his storylines simple, it would have been so easy to overdramatise the plot but by underplaying his hand, he delivered a plausible, sexy and very current storyline, I loved it.

Though this is Book 3 of the Series, each book can be read very successfully as stand alone, , so if you have been bitten by the Olympic Bug, this would be a great start to see what Max Walker has to offer.

Five gripping stars from me.
