RELEASE DATE: 16th July 2016
BLURB: Miro Jones is living the life: he’s got his exciting, fulfilling job as a US deputy marshal, his gorgeous Greystone in suburban Chicago, his beloved adopted family, and most importantly, the man who captured his heart, Ian Doyle. Problem is, Ian isn’t just his partner at work—Ian’s a soldier through and through. That commitment takes him away from Miro, unexpectedly and often, and it’s casting a shadow over what could be everything Miro could ever dream of.
Work isn’t the same without Ian. Home isn’t the same, either, and Miro’s having to face his fears alone… how to keep it together at the office, how to survive looming threats from the past, and worst of all, how to keep living without Ian’s rock-solid presence at his side. His life is tied up in knots, but what if unknotting them requires something more permanent? What would that mean for him and Ian? Miro’s stuck between two bad choices, and sometimes the only way to get out of the knot is to hold tight to your lifeline and pull.
The new installment of the Marshals series is here. My beloved Ian and Miro are finally back. And what a ride they get. I was glued to my Kindle till the last page, and I truly love these guys even more than ever before.
This is a signature Mary Calmes story with all the elements of her amazing writing style and action packed, fast paced storytelling. If you are a fan, you are in for a great treat. If you are new to this author, you should definitely start with the first two Marshal books to catch up with the backstory, and the amazing set of characters, being main, secondary, or recurring ones from previous books. (There’s even a cameo mention of Dre from Acrobat… thanks for that to the author btw.)
Miro and Ian have to deal with some serious problems in their relationship in the midst of all the action going on from an unexpected fallout from Ian’s past to a quirky rock star who needs protective custody, from Miro’s new sexy neighbor who wants to be more than neighborly to dealing with unforeseen events in this amazing family/group of friends. The plotline is probably the craziest I’ve ever read, with the quirkiest, funniest banter, the portrayal of the most admirable connection amongst the team members and their families, and the ever present hotness and rightness of Miro and Ian’s chemistry and their undeniable love for one another. While some parts of the storyline get final conclusions and some closure, many of them remain unanswered or at least open… hopefully giving the possibility for some more books to come.
I truly love these two guys and the way they love each other. This was probably the most difficult book for them as they had to deal with their emotions, and their priorities. Although the boiling point in the story was a bit too much for me, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more…
