BLURB: Wealthy real estate mogul Christophe Lafavre has everything—except any love life to speak of. Though he has a brilliant head for business, when it comes to relationships, he’s often left fumbling in the dark.
To put a stop to the whispers about his pitiful social life, Christophe takes a suggestion from a friend and goes to a club on masquerade night. There, he meets an elusive hottie who calls himself Raj, and though Christophe cannot see Raj’s face, there’s definitely a connection. Over the phone and online, Christophe and Raj get to know each other. Their conversation is easy and arousing. It’s hard for Christophe to believe the strength of the feelings he’s developing toward a man who is still essentially a stranger, but he can’t get Raj out of his head. They eventually give in to their physical longing—but still Raj refuses to show his face or divulge his identity.
When it comes, the revelation will rock Christophe’s world and redefine more than one relationship in his life.
As soon as I read the blurb of Remmy Duchene’s, Trust and Control, I knew instantly that I could not let this one slip through my fingers. That seductive element of a masked stranger seducing Christopher, was a pull I just couldn’t resist, it was far too intriguing, I had to find out.
Christopher is a man used to accomplishing things on his own, he hardly interacts with other people. Past experiences weren’t the outcome he had hoped that they would be. His brother and best friend are concerned, Christopher’s all work situation and lack of social life is worrying them.
After a suggestion from his best friend, Christopher plucks up courage to go to a Masquerade Night. And there he meets Raj. The attraction he feels towards Raj is staggering, so much so, he flees the Club!
But Raj has got under Christopher’s skin, he can’t get him out of his system. They arrange to have an exclusive dinner together and the sparks begin to reignite again, so much so, they have Christopher running, again!
So what happened during that dinner? For that answer, you will need to read it yourselves, but be warned, those sparks I mentioned earlier? they are nothing compared to the heat between these two men. But also causes heartache for both men.
Now I have to say, as depraved as I am, that I had certain expectations, which was not found in the other parts of the book. This is my first read from Remmy Duchenne, so I can’t compare her writing style or story to her other books, however, from my point of view, I personally would have liked a more BDSM element bought into this particular storyline. Yes, there was power play but only initially. It didn’t follow through in the storyline and I thought that a lost opportunity from the author, I wanted and needed that extra bit of spice.
For me, the main focus was Christopher discovering his feelings towards…….whoops, nearly gave a spoiler away there and then their’s…….nearly did it again there!
Remmy Duchene did a good job, it was well written and I particularly liked the humour running throughout the book and she was excellent in capturing all the insecurities between Christopher and ??????? (read the book)……..
