RELEASE DATE: 05th October 2016
BLURB: Holiday in Venice, Italy. What can be more romantic, especially when you have a young sexy guide named Luca, with an Italian accent to die for? That’s what Mark, visiting from Denver thought, except for the fact that he had just exited a tumultuous relationship of his own. The last thing he needed was to land in a rebound romance, especially with a guy that doesn’t seem all that interested, or maybe even isn’t gay. With an ocean keeping their lives separated, things do not look very promising.
But Mark senses something more, maybe something special, and tries to get closer to Luca, without much success. When Mark is faced with an unexpected problem, it is Luca who comes to his rescue. Faced with this, along with an unwanted ex, Luca and Mark begin to recognize the slowly burgeoning relationship that is forming between them.
Along with an unwanted past, Luca needs to face family that hasn’t been very supportive of his life or his lifestyle. The more that Luca and Mark, now lovingly called Marco, want to be together, the more things they find keeping them apart. Valiantly, they try to find a path that will lead to a future together, one on the same continent.
Follow the story of Luca and Marco in this erotic romance, and see if the charms of the old world can overcome the tough realities of today.
P.J. Nevada guided us through this steamy, sexy yet sweet, storyline like a professional tour guide, in fact, it was as if he had taken notes from Luca Lazzaro, who is not only one of the main MCs but also a tour guide himself.
He knew his topic, no way did this author “Google” his research, it was too accurate, too precise, he must have visited himself and fell in love with Venice and put this love into a book. When reading I felt the vibrancy of Italy as a whole, I could smell the Italian coffee, well they say that Venice is The Queen of the Adriatic, well P.J. Nevada is King of sweet romance.
This book had one of the best lines that I have read in a long time. When Mark Rollins catches his boyfriend with another man and is challenged by him for his name? Mark, with a cavalier look over the shoulder as he is leaving, flings back –
“you can call me history”
I LOVED that line.
And history he was, well maybe…….
What better way to get over a broken heart than go to the land of passion, historic culture and colour. Amidst all the colour and vibrancy, Luca Lazzaro stands out amongst the crowd and Paul wants him, or as the Italians would say “e stato un colpo di fulmine” – it was love at first sight (well nearly love at first sight).
And the author gave us their story. It was a simple love story, minor angst. Just two men falling in love and trying to find a way to stay together, but do they succeed?
4* from me, the true beauty in this love story was its simplicity.
****I would like to thank the author for the opportunity and privilege of reviewing this ARC. My opinions of this book, were entirely my own.****
