BLURB: One moment Riley Murrough is living a normal life working in a coffee shop, and the next he’s running for his life from demons, learns he bears the mark of a shape-shifter king from a magical realm, and—worst of all—he’s destined to become the mated prince to the arrogant tiger shifter he would rather strangle.
Khalon, the shifter king, is equally distraught at the idea of being bound to a human prince, and along with his Soldati warriors, he sets out to return Riley to his own world where he belongs. On their journey they might discover why the priestess brought them together—if they can escape the demons and make it to her alive.
First Edition published as The Soldati Prince in Charmed & Dangerous by JCP Books LLC, 2015.
The Soldati Prince was a fun read! It’s easy, humorous and heartwarming.
Riley is the average New Yorker who works as a barista. One night out of the blue, he is attacked by some horrible creatures and the smell they ooze almost makes him loose his dinner if he wasn’t running for his life that is. And if that wasn’t enough it seems that four tigers have escaped from the zoo and they are heading toward him. He curls up in a ball saying bye bye to his life and waiting to be teared apart. But he is not. The tigers are protecting him. Oh and did I mention that after the fight they turned into humans? And did I tell you that they took Riley with them? No … well I just did.
Kahlon has found his mate. But a human?! How outrageous! Him, the King of the Soldatis, the most powerful and trained tiger shifter to have a weak human as a mate …pleeease! You think he keeps it to himself, ohh no, sir, nuh uh. And how dare Riley shush him?! How …?!
Charlie brings us to the realm of The Soldatis, a realm full of magic and castles and servants and daemons hunting Riley. Kahlon decides the Priestess made a terrible mistake when he assigned Riley as his mate, and hei is determined to demand another mate. They journey is not as smooth as they think it will be and they get attacked by the daemons being stuck in this small village full with foxlings till the danger is cleared out from their way.
Meanwhile Riley finds out about what does it means to be the King’s mate how dangerous it is to not be claimed … but Kahlon told him that he, Riley has nothing to offer to him, so when the situation asks for it, Riley makes the biggest sacrifice … his soul for saving Kahlon and his Kingdom…
I so loved it!!! I love paranormal and a bit fantasy and this is a wonderful cocktail of both.
