BLURB: Bad boy and former NFL running back Patrick Guinness is tired of meaningless sex. Ever since his scorching hot one-night stand three years ago, no one has interested him. So when Max Segreti wanders into his mechanic shop—and his life again—Patrick can’t stop thinking about the totally-out-of-his-league law grad and the possibility of getting him out of his system once and for all…

Max Segreti has spent his entire life doing what his father wants. But when he runs into the hotter-than-hell player he’s never been able to forget, he’s not thinking about studying for the bar. A distraction is the last thing he needs, but after an encounter leaves him wanting more, Max embraces the chaos that Patrick brings…even as he knows it can’t last. They’re too different to ever have a future together.

I for one certainly fell for these two players – Patrick Guinness and Max Segreti.

I loved this. For me, it was how the author showcased these two men’s imperfections that made it stand out from other m/m contemporary’s.  And not just their imperfections but also their great divide in wealth and cultural backgrounds.  But  true to Jessica Lee’s writing style, she also showed us that true love can overcome all.

It wasn’t an easy path and if you love your angst, you will be in seventh heaven with this entertaining offering. I’m the first to admit that I wanted to smack Patrick’s head a few times into a wall trying to knock some sense into him and show him what he was going to loose through his own pigheadedness and insecurities, but I left it to the very capable writing hands of Jessica Lee to do that for me and of course, Patrick’s younger brother – Liam (another character that the author captured the essence of youth and nobody-understands-me-generation magnificently).

They met three years previously and spent one very memorable night together. They were chalk and cheese, rich and poor, upcoming football star and soon to be upcoming lawyer in his father’s legal practice.  Both so different but both so right for each other at the same time.

But after reuniting after those years apart and Patrick now a blue collared worker rather than a rich and famous football player and Max about to take his bar exam and become a fully fledged lawyer in his fathers’ prestigious law firm, can these two (especially Patrick), overcome their pasts and forge ahead against all the obstacles and find true happiness together?       Course they can!

This is Jessica Lee here and she never lets us down – she may make us sweat it out as readers but she always gives us the endings we crave and need.

How did she do this? Read it yourselves to find out, you won’t be disappointed.

Loved it.

Five big fat stars from me.
