BLURB: In a matter of days, Dex has been kidnapped, tortured, killed, revived, become half Therian, offered the chance to become a spy, and accepted a proposal to marry his jaguar Therian boyfriend, Sloane Brodie. It’s been a lot to take in, and although Dex is still trying to wrap his head around everything that’s happened, he knows he has to move forward.

After the events of Smoke & Mirrors, Dex and Sloane find themselves in one of the most frightening situations of all: revealing the truth to their Destructive Delta family. When the dust settles, nothing will ever be the same, and it’s up to Dex to prove that in the face of change, the one thing that will always remain the same is family.

OMG how I missed my boys…

This series has always amazed me and the amazement continued when reading this one, Charlie Cochet really is one of a kind, this world she has created is one you never want to leave.

This is not a full length book, it’s a novella which links rather nicely as to what has been happening at Destructive Delta and what their future mission at TIN will be (compare this with the human CIA) and it ended far too soon for my taste.

It starts exactly where Smoke & Mirrors ended.

The focus is mainly on Dex and Sloan. They are trying to wrap their heads around the many changes that are happening which will affect their lives, but also the rest of the team as well,

We see a different Dex, even if he is always funny he is more conscious, worried and this made me feel for him, because I want to see him always happy. Sloane is fighting with his guilt feelings for turning Dex in an Half Therian.

Ash and Hobbes fans will be happy to see more of these guys and they will squeeze your heart.

Maybe you will be disappointed because this book ends too soon and you want more, but I’m really in love in Charlie Cochet style and the wonderful world she has built for us. The woman is a genius.

Warning: this book is part of Thirds series and it CANNOT be read as stand alone. If you haven’t started this series yet what are you waiting for?
