BLURB: Twenty years after the Outlaw MC series, their children may not know the cost of war but they will know terror when Mars starts to reject humanity.

President of the Outlaw MC of Mars has a son—one that matches his temperament and the ability to find himself in trouble. Arie likes the notoriety a biker club offers, but being the oldest son of a founding member are big shoes to fill. When a quake makes the sleepy city on Mars rumble, Arie and his best friend Kavin are drinking in an off-limits spaceship. An unexpected kiss, followed by the quake, makes for one hell of a mistake. They take off without any ability to control the ship. Their destination? Earth.

There’s a lack of clothing, earth animals, and a growing relationship that leaves Arie confused about his future, but none of that compares to the dangers. Arie must now face a beast that nearly killed his father, and a love he never saw coming.

James Cox can do no wrong in my eyes, I love his books.  I dubbed him The Cox some time ago because he is simply King of the Cocks – he owns it.  And this book proved it beyond doubt. Now I must admit that I was a bit surprised when he announced a follow-on from his marvellous Outlaw MC Series – I wasn’t sure where he was going to take it?

Well, he’s taken it to the next generation and Earth!  And do you want to know a secret?  I think it has the potential to be even better than the first Series and that’s saying something. Of course the dad’s are still featuring, but it was kinda sad to see them getting old – but having said that, they  may be ageing, but still ready to ride to the rescue, or in this case, fly to the rescue. But this is Arie, Kavin’s and the dreaded octopus monster story. It starts with Arie and Kavin (his best friend) messing about together on Mars when the ground starts to shake and they end up on their way to Earth in the spaceship they were drinking on. Not a bad thing you might say, but Earth has long been abandoned and Arie’s father was imprisoned there and nearly died.  Plus there may be the added problem of the flesh eating octopus monster that be may lurking around and with no one left of earth, it’s  either dead or ravenously hungry…….. On a pretty uneventful landing, both Arie and Kavin are amazed and impressed with Earth.  Unlike Mars, it is luscious green and even has rain!  Its not so bad, they just have to wait to be rescued and still have some booze left, so why not have some?  And we all know what happens when we have a few drinks, maybe a little scared even and then one thing leads to another, which ends up with a kiss…. Now Arie has no problems with kissing, he does it all the time, he’s definitely a love em’ and leave em’ with no next time, kinda guy.  With girls.  Never with men and especially not his best friend.  He’s not Gay but he really enjoyed that kiss and wouldn’t mind a few more and if it leads to something else?  He wouldn’t mind that either! So while he’s waiting to be rescued and sorting out his feelings over why he feels so protective over Kavin, the octopus monster suddenly decides that it’s hungry and Arie and Kavin would be the perfect meal!

Can they survive long enough to be rescued and will Arie “man up” and admit his true feelings for Kavin? In summing up, it was sexy fun throughout.  I liked how it was told in Arie’s POV and James Cox has mastered this to perfection, the delivery and timing spot on and made it such a delight to read, so well done author. I need to read book 2 ASAP, as Mars has big problems and I think a evacuation to Earth maybe on the cards?  Don’t know.  But I want to see if I’m right. Highly, highly recommended.

5* Cox stars from me.

Recently I was asked “who and what is Three Books Over the Rainbow?” and that’s a very good question.  Who are we really? and why do we think we are different to other Blogs?

Well firstly, we are a m/m romance Blog.  Originating in Italy, we have expanded rapidly and now cover not only Italian but the German and Anglo-American markets as well. Responding to interest from the Spanish and French markets, we are thrilled to offer global book reviews. Hong Kong and Tokyo have not returned our phones calls as of yet, lol.  Our Reviewers are dedicated and very hard working, giving up their free time to bring you books that they want you to read, sharing the pleasure they received from reading it.

So now to The Team.

It’s with absolute pleasure that I introduce to you – The Italians, the English, the German, the Hungarians, the Dutch and the American – yeah, I know, there’s a joke in their somewhere……….

So let’s start with our Chief Blog Administrators, Francesca Giraudo and Federica Lemme, both based in our main headquarters, Italy and which I fondly refer collectively to as “The Mafia”.

FrancescaHi Francesca,

Can you tell us a little about yourself, how the Blog came about and your hopes for the Blog’s future?

I’ve always loved reading, especially romance.  I started the Blog back in 2014 all by myself.    Back then, I didn’t know that m/m romance even existed, so I was reviewing m/f romances.  That all changed when I came across Erin E. Keller’s “Dimmi come se” and found a whole new world to follow and fell in love all over again.

Now this little beauty of a book, has been translated into English – What you Are and this was my turning point in my reading, I now only read m/m romances and it’s one of the best decisions that I have ever made (together of course with the Blog).   As I said I started alone, I wanted to share the pleasure I got from reading with other readers and hopefully bring them books that they may have missed.  Time has bought change, good changes.  My Blog is now one big family, I  have 12 good friends working on my Italian branch of the Blog, 6 good friends working on my English branch and 1 good friend running my German branch, I consider myself very lucky.  It’s funny though, my friends call me  “Big Bossa” so when Lorraine refers to me as The Mafia, I can’t help but laugh –  it’s so very fitting.

The success of the Blog is all down to these wonderful friends, they work so hard to ensure that we succeed, they help me achieve new goals and so much satisfaction, thank you my friends.

My hopes for the Blog’s future?  To continue as we have been over the past two years, we are one big family and I’m so grateful for that.

Next to step up, is our amazing 008 Federica (she is our backbone, controls the day-to-day running of the Blog and is totally indispensable).

FedericaHello my friend,

Can you also tell us a little about yourself, what you see as your main function at the Blog and where you see the Blog a year from now?

Hello everyone.  Well, what can I say that you don’t know already?  I think Lorraine’s Mafia comment already lets on that I’m Italian, in fact I’m a 42 year old Italian, with 3 dogs and 2 cats and been a m/m addict for the past four years.

Unlike today, four years ago, m/m romances being translated into Italian was a rarity, so to feed my craving, I began to read them in English.  And that fed my addiction even more!

I discovered so many new authors, such wonderful storylines, I was in seventh heaven.  Then I met Francesca and together we decided to create an “English Corner” for our Italian Blog.  Originally, it was going to be a twice monthly column, that thinking soon changed when the demand grew to amazing levels that we could never have envisaged.  Twice a month wasn’t going to cut it, we had to have our very own English Blog.  I’ll admit it wasn’t easy, reading in English for an Italian and then writing a review in English as well…well let’s just say the word “daunting” springs to mind.  But we did it and then found some wonderful English speaking reviewers – a real result for us – and here we are.

Now, apart from reviewing, I organise the Schedule for the Blog and I also publish the reviews for the Team.  We are a Team, a good Team, everyone one of us works hard to ensure the Blog’s success.

I can’t imagine where we will be in a year because I’ve never imagine to be here today, I’m sure I wouldn’t have been here without you Lorraine, so we will see……

Now it’s over to our German teammate, Anne Bock.  (Anne runs the German Blog entirely on her own.  As you can imagine, she is kept extremely busy and therefore maybe not as high profile as some of us, but she always makes her presence known!)

anneHello Annie,

Please tell us a little something about yourself and what’s it really like running the German Blog all on your lonesome?

Heya all,

Hmm, what to tell about myself, hmm… Like mentioned before, I am from Germany and live in Lower Saxony near the Northern Sea. When I am not reading (a lot!!), I like to be in nature, riding my bicycle, or walking. I don’t mind a good movie either or spending some time with my friends here and there. And lately I have two new little minions aka my kittens at my side, Lily and Mica that keep me busy. All. The.Time.

Now to the Blog, the perfect mix of hobby, fun and the chance to connect with readers, authors and BookAlcoholics like me. Books, books and books, heaven on earth. It can be a bit stressful to have the “fun” all for myself, but the authors or members of each publisher I am connected to are really, really nice, supportive and friendly. Sometimes it’s a bit much, no, overwhelming is a better word to describe it. So much books and you can hardly decide what to read and review next. But it’s a hobby, too, so it should be fun and therefore I am grateful for the patience of some people when I may be a tiny little bit behind my own schedule. All in all it’s a lot of fun and I am honoured to sometimes be one of the firsts to read a new book of an author. So thank you for having me on the blog and to the authors for being so kind to let me read their precious works to review them.

So, that’s all folks. See ya!

Next up is Eszter, aka Cinnammon.  Cinna is part of our Anglo-American Team.

12833361_10205887579250242_1339245014_nHi Cinna,

You recently made a life changing move from your home country to the U.S., so can you share how that went, a little about yourself and what your ambition for the Blog is for the coming year?

I fell in love with MM when I accidentally bumped into a book at the local library when I was living in the US back in 2010. Never though something wonderful like that existed… I watched QaF, youtube videos of gay storylines and loved yaoi manga, but when I found this new magic world, there was no turning back. In 2014 I joined FB to find authors I love and the rest is history. I mostly read contemporary romances but enjoy paranormal and suspense as well. I care about my characters and love when the focus is on their connection. I also enjoy different dynamics mm, mmm, mmmmm… if they are well written. I hate unnecessary complications and miscommunication, and most of all cliffhangers. I am always eager to try something new but I also have regular rereads and stories I turn to when I am in a certain mood. If you want to know more about CinnaMon, you know where to find me!

Now let’s welcome Sandra and Levi, our two latest recruits to the Anglo-American Team.

lexyHello Sandra,

Perhaps you can tell our readers, a little about yourself as well and why you joined our team?

Hi everyone, I’m Sandra aka Lexy.  I live in a town near Amsterdam, Netherlands with my husband and three children – 2 boys and one girl.

I work for an international company as my day job, with English being their first language and have regular contact with colleagues in Germany, Spain, Italy (that comes in handy when keeping The Mafia happy, lol) and the U.K.  This is a great way to practice my English and German but have to say, that writing German is a skill that is beyond me – it’s strictly verbal only!

I’m an avid reader and always have been.  Fantasy and Sci-fi being my favourites.  I started my love of reading when I was a teenager and become a regular at my local library, where I soon become well known and most importantly, saved some money rather than being broke all the time from buying books – thank you library, you saved me a fortune over the years.

So after discovering the e-reader and e-books I stumbled, almost simultaneously , upon Yaoi manga and m/m romance. The first due to my daughter reading manga and me wanting to know what manga and anime was all about and yeah Yaoi is BoysLove manga….nice!  And the second if I remember correctly via a search on the Kobo website. That was a m/m romance that had a big BDSM factor and to me that was a BIG eye opener. I think I’d finished that book the same day I bought it. That was romance on a different level than previously encountered 🙂

So why did I join the Team?  Well, with my electronic library overflowing, I thought it time to voice my thoughts – sharing what I like and maybe, some that I didn’t like so much with the reasons as to why.  I’d like to find books that you may have missed and share my thoughts on it.  But it’s not only that, I want to be more interactive with the authors themselves, I want to be able to thank them for writing such wonderful books and what a great way of achieving that than by writing a review through the Blog.

Thank you for accepting me in to your famiglia and for giving me a chance.  I also want to thank the authors in trusting me with their precious ARCs.

As I have already mentioned, I’m writing my reviews under the name of Lexy – a name frequently used in my past  and has really good memories for me, so please help me create new memories by stopping by and saying hi.

leviHi Levi,

I’m sure by now that our readers have read your reviews, so could you tell us about the man behind his reviews?

Hi everyone, my name is Levi.  I  am Hungarian, born in Transylvania.

I love my books, they are my happy place – the escape from the reality we live in …….

I  discovered m/m romance over two years ago and can’t imagine going back to reading m/f romance….so maybe that is a no?

I joined a m/m book club over at Goodreads and remember thinking at the time, that I couldn’t review a book because “art cannot be judged”.  That shows you just how little I knew about reviewing back then.  I somehow saw it as a criticism and how can you criticise art?  It is something that can’t be judged or analysed – Art is art is art.  But now I realise that a review is different, we are not art critics and I can finally see the difference now, we share our book experiences with you, the readers.

I’m so happy to be part of this amazing team!

As for you fellow readers, authors/editors, publishers and PA’s……have a great time reading our reviews.

Have fun!

14483774_10202179950336519_1469719546_nAnd lastly but by no means least, I would like to introduce Gareth Owens.  Gareth has a very special niche with us in his Gareth’s Corner.

Welcome Gareth,

You truly are our mystery man.  Can you rectify that by also telling us a little about you as a person, what exactly Gareth’s Corner is and your plans for the future?

“Mystery Man?” Whoa there … I think you’ve confused me with someone else. I am just a country boy from Northwest Georgia who loves to write. I am married to the most wonderful man in the world and have a dog with more personality than many people I’ve met.

I have worked as a social worker and a legislative advocate at the Georgia and West Virginia State Houses. Although I have dabbled in writing since I was a kid, I made the decision to try my hand at writing contemporary romantic fiction.

I try to balance my work and family life with my two ongoing projects, Gareth’s Corner and my current WIP a romantic thriller. The book reviewers of the m/m genre that we love so much rush from one review straight onto the next one. The need for more reviewers goes without saying. In short, they are overworked and under appreciated. I have reviewed for other blogs in the past and have always felt that the one key ingredient to better understanding the book is missing. That ingredient is the author his or herself. That is when I devised the “Interview Review” format. It gives the readers a better chance to see and hear a side to their favourite authors that they wouldn’t otherwise see. I pitched the idea to the blog’s owner. My first interview was in July of this year and since then The Corner has enjoyed immediate and consistent success. It is my plan to continue to feature the stars of our genre and the brilliant works they create. Look for a few surprises in the upcoming months.

lorraineAnd me?  I’m Lorraine.  Chief Coffee Maker (Italian blend only of course – I wouldn’t want to upset The Mafia…..).

RELEASE DATE: November 2, 2016

BLURB: Chad has pined for Raudel since high school, but he’s been avoiding him ever since Raudel caught him in an excruciatingly embarrassing moment. So when Chad’s sister invites Raudel to join them for her weeklong prewedding celebration at Lake Tahoe, Chad is horrified. He brainstorms his escape, until reality crashes down and he discovers he’s bunking with Raudel in the last available bedroom at the lakeside retreat.

Thrown together by the bridal party from hell, Chad and Raudel unite and attempt to survive Chad’s bridezilla sister, a crazy grandmother, an overbearing mother, and the search for the perfect chocolate fountain. Despite the little time they have together, they reconnect when unexpected discoveries come to light. Love may find a way amid the nuptial chaos, but it’s unlikely to be exactly the way they expect.

Chad noted that Raudel had made it out of his car with a messenger bag flung over one shoulder. He glanced up the driveway. Chad ducked his head, then marched forward and within a few long strides, skirted the front of the Suburban, placing the behemoth of a truck between him and Raudel.

“Raudel Cruz! Is that you?” Chad’s mother called out, her voice shrill to his ears, but he acknowledged that it might only be due to the current state of fear assailing him. “Chad! Come here, it’s Raudel. You remember Lindsey’s friend?”

In ways you can’t imagine.

Chad froze, still shielded from Raudel’s probing gaze by the heavily tinted glass his father had had the foresight to opt for on the Suburban. Chad knew it had only been added as protection against the searing heat of their little Nevada town, but he fantasized that it’d actually been meant to save him. Or at least offer more in the way of essential stalling opportunities. He let his head fall back as he stared up at the sky. His avoidance tactics were swiftly disappearing.

“Chad? Did you hear me?”

Yup, I’m toast. “Yeah, Mom. Just grabbing the fountain real quick.”

“Oh, don’t worry about that. You can get it later. Come say hello to Raudel.”

Chad wrestled the fountain loose from the backseat anyway, then wrapped his arms around the box as he lifted it up in front of him. If he peered around the side, he could still see where he was going. Sort of. As he tentatively stepped forward, he used the frame of the truck to guide him. He made it around the first headlight, then hazarded a peek.

He jerked his head back behind the safety of the box.

Still hot as fuck. Dammit.

His mother jabbered on about “how long has it been?” and “your mother must be so proud” and “aren’t you graduating soon?”

The sound of Raudel’s smooth voice and soft laugh filled the air as he responded to his mother’s obligatory questions and observations. Since no one had acknowledged Chad’s presence yet, he figured he’d chance meandering to the left, around Lindsey’s Toyota parked in front of the truck and into the safety of the house.

He’d almost cleared his mother when she grasped his upper arm, pulling him back with surprising strength for someone who was supposed to be recovering from a back injury.

“Chad, for heaven’s sake. Where are you going?”

He tried to extricate himself from her grip, but she only dug her fingers deeper into his flesh. “Ow.” All hope of avoiding Raudel was lost, and he again peered around the boxed fountain, his muscles beginning to strain from the effort of holding it up for so long.

“Hi, Chad.”

Raudel flashed the same perfect smile that Chad had once jacked off to all the time, and on occasion thereafter. It was pure genius that he’d saved his yearbook.

And stole the pic from Lindsey.

“Hey. How’s it going?” Chad tossed the words out as if Raudel’s presence had zero impact on him, that he was merely being the polite brother of his sister’s best friend and nothing more.

“Doing well. It’s great to—” Raudel let out a small chuckle. “—almost see you.”

Chad tried for an offhand chuckle as well, but it came out more maniacal. Raudel extended his hand, and anxiety wreaked havoc with Chad’s nervous system. Socially mandated touching hadn’t been part of his Raudel-avoidance strategy. Chad was operating in the dark. Dashed to pieces was his hope of having all possible scenarios involving potential interaction planned out before Raudel’s arrival.

In an attempt to prevent the moment from becoming too drawn out and awkward, Chad juggled the unwieldy box onto his other hip, then reached out to take Raudel’s offered hand.

lorraineMy first venture into the world’s that Morticia Knight creates and I liked it.  This offering was sexy sweet, insta-love that was OTT but suited this book so well and the pre-wedding preparations that bought back so many (now humorous) memories of my own.

Yes, you’ve guessed it, there’s a wedding going on.  Not just any wedding, it’s Chad’s sister’s wedding and she has long passed the Bridezilla status, she has now progressed to the level of Bridethulhu – for the uninitiated amongst you, that is the equivalent to part octopus, part bride and part dragon!

Of course having a pre-wedding party includes the mandatory close family.  And what a menagerie of a collection they were (Oh, grandma, I do love you) all so memorable and all seemingly knowing where the magic fountain of never ending beer was!

But the most memorable was Chadwick (Chad) Barton, the bride’s brother.  He stole the bride’s thunder (in more than one way), it was his book all the way.  Morticia Knight created the most endearing and humorous character, his thoughts (it’s told from Chad’s POV) were just hilarious.  Now I don’t want to do a spoiler here, but…….the dildo “incident” was superb inspiration on behalf of the author and YES Chad, it will stay with you for the rest of your life – I’m still thinking of it when writing this, lol.

The blurb really does cover the book well, so I’m not going to repeat.  Just sit back and enjoy this sexy delight, but thank your lucky stars that you weren’t on the Guest List to join the party.  Great fun.

4* they-did-it-their-way stars from me.

I voluntary reviewed an Advanced Review Copy of this book.

Giving true love a spin . . .

Michelin Moses is a country music star on the rise. With a hit single under his Texas-sized belt buckle and a sold-out concert tour underway, his childhood dreams of making it big are finally coming true. But there’s one thing missing—a promise to his dying mother that he’d find it—him—when the time was right. With a little luck, he won’t have to wait too long . . .

Lucky Ramirez is a hunky boy toy who dances at The Broom Closet, one of West Hollywood’s hottest gay bars. He loves what he does, and he’s good at it—almost as good as he is at playing dumb when he spots Michelin Moses at the bar. What happens next is off the charts—and keeps Michelin coming back for more. He’s just not sure it’s the right move for his career. But if Lucky gets his way, Michelin will get Lucky—and no matter how the media spins it, neither of them will be faking it . . .

Michelin Moses had no business at a gay bar, especially not one as notorious as West Hollywood’s The Broom Closet. And the line to get in totally underscored that—the vestibule was a long, narrow tunnel filled with kids out to enjoy their Friday night. Babies, really. Fresh-faced young things who probably didn’t even need to shave jostled one another in the tight space, laughing and joking as they admired one another’s club wear and gossiped about who was fucking who.

Not that Michelin was listening in, but the space was so tiny it was hard not to. He didn’t have club wear to ogle. He had “please for the love of God don’t notice me” clothes. And the idea of openly pointing to another dude in line and announcing to one’s friends, “Oh yeah, I hit that last weekend” was so totally foreign that he couldn’t help but gape a bit. The plexiglass walls of the tunnel gave off weird shadows—neither the lights outside the club nor the dim track lighting along the bottom edge of the tunnel were enough illumination.

He tugged at the collar of his Henley shirt. Damn, it was hot in here. Too small. Too tight. Not enough air. Shut up. He was not claustrophobic. If this line ever moved, he’d feel better once he was inside the Closet.

If that’s not a metaphor for your whole damn life…

“ID please.” Finally, the line reached the bouncers who were taking ID. Michelin couldn’t even remember the last time he’d had to stand around like this, show ID. At least unlike these nineteen-year-olds with their fake identification, Michelin’s Oregon driver’s license was likely to hold up. The bouncer was a huge guy—so tall and jacked that Michelin felt for the tiny stool that held him up—with surprisingly small, delicate hands.

He held the card aloft before finally handing it back and nodding. “Okay, cowboy. Enjoy your night.”

At least he hadn’t laughed outright at the name. That was something. Shoving his license back in his wallet, he stumbled a bit coming out of the tunnel.

“Watch it,” someone barked behind him.

“Sorry,” Michelin mumbled. Hell, he couldn’t even successfully enter the Closet. A nervous laugh bubbled up in his throat, something he stamped right back down. Forget the stupid bar, coming out of his personal closet was out of the question, and he didn’t need the crowd jostling behind him to remind him of that.

“This your first time here?” a kid to the left of him asked—short little guy with far more bravado than brains. Michelin made a noncommittal response but the kid grabbed his sleeve, his eyes going soft and hooded. “How about you be my daddy for the night? We can make sure it’s your lucky night.” The kid winked.

Ugh. Getting lucky wasn’t even remotely in the cards for his night.

“No thanks.” He pulled away from the kid, scanning the cavernous space for signs of the private party room his friends had promised. And oh holy hell, knowing in the abstract that this place had go-go dancers was a far cry from actually seeing said dancers dispersed through the place on platforms and in cages and even on something resembling a trapeze. Gleaming bronze skin and tiny shorts everywhere he looked.

Fuck the private room. I need a soda. Something to relieve his suddenly parched throat. He turned toward the main bar area and ran smack into one of the elevated dancers’ platforms. Two platforms flanked the opening of the club, directing the stream of traffic toward the bar, sort of like how a different sort of place might have large statues. Only instead of works of stone or ice, this…piece of art in front of Michelin was all man.

And what a specimen he was. The dancer probably wasn’t much older than the kids waiting to get into the club, but there was nothing juvenile about his tall, ripped body or that juicy bubble butt that he worked to perfection the way Michelin’s guitar player did a solo—each muscle working in concert with the others, each wiggle carefully choreographed for maximum appeal. Said butt was encased in a pair of shorts. Or at least Michelin guessed that one would call them shorts—they were longer than underwear, but not by much, and made of a clingy, silky red material. The stitching did things to the guy’s package that shouldn’t be legal.

Those muscular legs and that smooth, oiled chest also needed outlawing. The dancer had completed his look with thick, chunky combat boots, sunglasses, and a necklace with a medal on it. The boots and glasses upped the hotness factor to supernova, giving him an untouchable appeal that made it no surprise that he had a fair-sized crowd around his platform. Right as Michelin completed his muscle-by-muscle catalog of the guy, the dancer’s glasses slipped, revealing chocolaty eyes. His eyebrows went up, and the message he sent Michelin was unmistakable: You gonna stay there all night?

Oh fuck. Michelin was blocking the line of traffic, and more important, blocking access to the platform for the patrons who wanted to slip tips in the guy’s waistband.

Should he? He shoved a hand in his pocket, considering. Did he dare risk touching a piece of that gleaming skin? The lights reflecting off the dancer’s body totally made Michelin think of caramel dripping off flan—rich golden tones only enhanced by the contrast of the shiny black combat boots and his closely cropped black hair.

What the fuck was the protocol in a situation like this? Hi, I’m sorry I’ve been eye-fucking you for the last ten minutes, here’s a five? He’d never been to a straight strip club either. Hell, he avoided most bars like the plague. And eye-fucking? He never ogled—and not just because it could be disastrous to his career. Most of the time he simply felt oblivious, but something about the dancer perked up parts of Michelin that usually stayed dormant. Two people shoved around him to stuff money in the dancer’s shorts, their arms trapping Michelin briefly in place. Coming here had been a giant mistake, just as Gloria had warned him.

“You can’t go to that party! Gossip is already high about you mentoring two gay groups—”

“They’re not gay groups. They just happen to have gay members,” Michelin said wearily, already tired of this latest publicist the label had shoved at him.

“Whatever.” Gloria flipped her bony wrist. “They’re a risk you can’t take right now.”

“It’s no big deal. There will be straight people at the party.” Michelin didn’t bother with the “other straight people” pretext. Gloria knew the drill. “There’s no risk in celebrating a friend’s birthday.”

Except now, looking at the dancer, Michelin knew how wrong he’d been. This place was risk personified, and that dancer was the embodiment of everything Michelin denied himself. The dancer was a triple pour of top-shelf whiskey and Michelin couldn’t stop thinking about the heady rush touching him would bring. He should turn around now. Get back to his car now before he really embarrassed himself—

“Mi—boss! There you are!”

Oh thank you, small mercies, that Lucas stopped himself before he said Michelin’s name. Still, Michelin turned toward him warily. Play it cool, he tried to tell Lucas with his eyes.

Lucas nodded, just slightly. Message received. Like everyone else in the club, Lucas was in his early twenties and about a decade younger than Michelin, but at least he was one of Michelin’s favorite kids, especially because he was here to lead Michelin away from the temptation that was the dancer with the sculpture-worthy ass.

“The party room is back this way.” Lucas motioned with his hand. “Follow me.”

“Babe!” A familiar rangy figure with a punk haircut draped himself over Lucas. “You found him.” Cody had a smile for Michelin, but his affection was all for his boyfriend.

Ordinarily, Michelin loved being around the two of them and the other guys he mentored. Their energy was infectious, and their passion for music renewed his own. But tonight, Michelin’s stomach cramped as he followed the two of them to the rear of the club. Happiness practically rolled off them and their movements were totally in sync with each other. Once Michelin had thought he might get to know what that was like, but those days were long past.

“Don’t even think about doing anything now. You’ve got too much riding on this year. Don’t be foolish. You’ve got the number one country song in America right now. Don’t mess with your momentum.” Gloria’s voice rang in his ears. Nope. No way was Michelin ever getting what his friends shared. No sense in pining for it either. He had a career he loved, friends who made him laugh, and family at his back. He’d known what the trade-offs were when he decided to trade his rock stardom for country crossover success.

Tonight’s strange melancholy mood had him aching to get back home, push all these feelings into working on a new song. With any luck, Michelin could say happy birthday to Jalen, make a round of greetings to the other musicians he was mentoring, and get the hell out of Dodge. Preferably without running into the dancer again. He didn’t need another reminder of how little he fit into this world—or how much he wished life were a bit different.

BLOG TOUR: “ENDINGS AND BEGINNINGS” by K.C. Wells & Parker Williams

Author Names: K.C. Wells & Parker Williams

Book Name: Endings and Beginnings

Series: Collars & Cuffs

Book: Eight

This is the final book in the series, which should be read from Beginning to End. 😉 (See what we did there?)

Release Date: July 18, 2016

Blurb:  In all his relationships, Darren Fielding never found the level of intimacy he witnessed between Thomas Williams and his sub, Peter, the day of Peter’s “rebirth.” Not only that, he never realized such intimacy was possible. For two years, Thomas’s business card has been burning a hole in his wallet. When Darren’s lover moves on, maybe it’s finally time to see where that card takes him.

Collars & Cuffs’s new barman, JJ Taylor, is really conflicted right now. He went to the club with a very specific purpose, already convinced of what he’d find there. Except it’s not what he expected at all. He certainly didn’t anticipate finding himself drawn to the new wannabe Dom. Nor could he have guessed the direction that attraction would lead him.

Old love, new love, vows, pain, rage, moving in, moving on…. The members of Collars & Cuffs face an event that touches some of them deeply, but it will only reinforce what they already know: together they are stronger, and some bonds cannot be broken.

FedericaThey say all good things have to come to an end and it’s true, but why do we still feel so sad when saying goodbye?

I loved this series so much.  But have to admit that I was a bit afraid, OK…terrified, to read this very last book.  Co-author (Parker Williams) has said many times that KC was evil, yes, he said “evil” for what she had in mind for this last book!

I was privileged to have met KC at the Italian M/M Meet, after giving her a big hug, I had to ask if what Parker Williams said was true?  She responded with a big, angelic smile, saying “I would never do something like that…..”  and yes, she was right, she wasn’t “evil” but it wasn’t plain sailing either, heartache does ensue.

For those of you that haven’t read this Series, this is the 8th book and though every book tells a story of one couple, I strongly suggest that you read this amazing Series in order for full benefit.

As this is the last book, we learn what has happened to all the characters from previous books, all the ones we love so dearly.  But also, their’s JJ and Darren’s own story, running parallel with the other stories.

We meet JJ at the beginning of the book, when Peter and the other guys make a shocking discovery, which will have big aftermath to Peter and JJ.

We also discovered JJ’s story and I have to say, my heart went out to him – trapped in a situation for which he is not responsible.

There are so many good things to say about this Series, but for me, seeing the MCs who knew nothing about the BDSM lifestyle and then embracing it, was great reading.  Yes, there were problems, it was not all plain sailing but this kept things interesting, you never got bored, never knowing what was going to happen next?

Is this really the end of the Series, who really knows?  Maybe there will be more stories to tell in the future, with these characters, you never know…..

Was this a sad book because it’s ending?  No, not really, we see each couple commit themselves and I even think that Jarod and Eli journey has not ended, I think the author may have some surprises up her sleeve?

Joe & Christian Part Two:

The young man turned on his seat, and Joe couldn’t help himself. He reached for the slender wrist. “I think I’d prefer you to come with me.”

“Of course, Sir.”

He followed Joe to the lockers, then without being asked, he knelt as Joe started to change. He could see those puffy pink lips that he knew would look incredible as they stretched around his cock. But that surprisingly wasn’t what he wanted right now.

He dressed quickly, then held out a hand. When the soft skin met his, Joe swallowed hard. “Come with me,” he growled.

Christian stood and followed Joe to the door.

“Would you like to know where we’re going?” Joe asked, his voice husky.

“If you want to tell me, Sir.”

Joe reached out and stroked Christian’s cheek, delighting when he leaned into the touch.

“I’d like it to be a surprise, but I know you don’t know me that well. I don’t want you to be afraid.”

“I’m not, Sir. I know you better than you might think. I know you’re kind and wouldn’t hurt anyone.”

Joe swallowed hard, wondering if Christian’s faith in him was misplaced. He’d never done anything to earn it from the lad, but he appreciated the trust. He returned to the bar, leaned over and whispered to Kenton, who smiled and nodded.

“I told Kenton where we were going, and asked him to inform Thomas or Leo.”

“Okay,” Christian said, his smile never wavering.

Joe led him out the door, leaned over and told him where they were going, before saying good night to Tony.

“Are you ready?”

“I am.”

Joe put him in the car, closing the door behind him. When he got into the driver’s side, he took a deep breath, turned the car on, and put it in gear. They drove for fifteen minutes, before Joe pulled into an all-night diner. He turned off the car, then hurried to the other side to let Christian exit.

“Are you hungry? Joe asked.

“Famished,” Christian answered.

They entered and sat in a booth. The waitress came over, said hello, and handed them menus. Joe looked up and saw the confusion in Christian’s eyes. He smiled, hoping to put his dinner companion at ease.

“Okay, I know that it’s not normal for me to take someone out to eat, but I’d like to get a chance to know you a little. I’ve heard you were Curtis’s submissive—“

Christian frowned, which brought Joe up short.

“I’m sorry. I don’t mean to bring up bad memories. It was thoughtless of me.”

“It’s okay,” Christian said quietly. “I’m getting better and stronger all the time.”

Then he gave Joe a smile that dazzled him.

Three months later.

“Are you ready, boy?”

“Yes, Sir. I’m on my way out.”

The past three months had been beyond belief for Christian. He’d heard the stories about Joe. How he liked to share his subs, and he kept waiting for the penny to drop. But it didn’t. Joe treated him with kindness and respect, even though he was rigid and demanding. He couldn’t get it out of his head that Joe wanted to actually sign a contract with him, but he wouldn’t turn it down. He’d fallen head over heels for the man after that dinner they shared. He stepped out of the bedroom, and his cheeks headed when Joe whistled.

“Looking sharp, boy.”

“Thank you, Sir.”

“Time to go to the club. Are you ready?”

“I am.”

The club was unusually busy for a Wednesday afternoon. People smiled and nodded as they made their way to the office. When Joe knocked, a deep voice told them to come in. He saw Thomas sitting behind the desk, looking for all the world to be the consummate professional he knew he was.

“Here to sign a contract, right?”

“Yes, Thomas. I think it’s about time.”

“I’m so happy for you both.”

He slid the contract over the desk, and Christian was surprised to find a space empty. “Sir?”

“May I ask a question?”

“Of course. I always want you to tell me if you don’t understand something.”

Christian swallowed. “I know it’s going to seem odd, but…”

“But? Don’t stop now. Tell me what’s on your mind.”

Christian let his gaze wander over the contract once more. The area that talked about sharing gave him pause.

“I should have said this earlier, and if you prefer not to sign, I will understand.”

“Go on,” Joe said.

Christian’s head drooped. “When I was with Curtis, he passed me around to many men. I hated the feeling that I was only a hole for them to use. He never took my needs into consideration. I guess what I’m trying to say is… I’d prefer not to be shared, Sir.”

Joe reached out and grasped Christian’s shoulders. “See that empty spot on the contract? I left that space blank, because I have no intention of ever letting another man put his hands on you. Bet you didn’t see that coming, did you?”

“No, I didn’t,” Christian admitted.

Joe pulled him closer. “From the night we went to dinner, I realized I didn’t want anyone else touching you. Looking at you. Being with you. I wanted you to belong only to me. Is that okay?”

Christian dropped to his knees and placed his forehead on Joe’s feet. The next words out of his mouth surprised him, but they filled him with pride. “Yes, Master. Thank you.”

Joe reached down and stroked Christian’s hair. “I like seeing you down there, boy. I’m not going to go easy on you. I hope you realize that. I believe in a firm hand.”

“I don’t mind at all, Master. I will serve you to the best of my ability. Thank you.”

Joe hauled him to his feet, and they both signed the contract that would give Joe control of Christian to him for a year. He hoped that things worked out between them, because he loved his Master, and he never wanted to be parted from him.

“Let’s go home, boy. We have a lot of work to do.”

Meet K.C. Wells

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….

K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.

And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer….

Greg Dwyer and Kyrie Li are living the glorious couple life in New York City. Or are they? When struggling actor Kyrie lands a modeling job, he’s ecstatic to have extra cash to spend on his best-friend-turned-boyfriend.

Of course, Greg is suspicious Anders Berglund, the gorgeous and androgynous Swedish cover model the designers love to pair with Kyrie, is after his man. And maybe Kyrie encourages a growing closeness with the guy?

Greg is probably to blame if Kyrie is drawn to the openly gay and seriously beautiful Andy. With Andy, Kyrie can be himself, as loud and proud as he’s always been. But Greg’s sexuality stays firmly locked in the closest except when he’s with Kyrie’s supportive family or alone with the man he loves.

To make matters worse, Greg’s out-of-touch mom meets with financial ruin and moves in with the couple, forcing him into the closet in his own home.

Can Greg find a way to stand up to Mommy Dearest and win back a love he fought so hard to reach? He discovers the road to pride begins at home and with accepting oneself first. Otherwise, it’s just a dead-end street.

Kyrie’s amazing day was about to get a cherry on top. He opened the apartment door to the rattle of keys on the other side.

Greg’s mouth dropped open, eyes widening comically, but he spared a nervous glance for the empty hallway behind him before stepping swiftly over the threshold.

He shut the door and locked it with a snap of the deadbolt.

“Is it my birthday already?” Easing his work computer to the floor, Greg allowed the suit jacket draped over one arm to follow unceremoniously. As he loosened his tie, yanking the knot from side to side, his mahogany gaze did a similar zigzag down Kyrie’s exposed body.

“This, my love, is just one of the outfits I was given today when I went for my Spectrum Spectacular callback.”

Greg took in the full extent of Kyrie’s ensemble, what little there was of it, and his auburn brows lowered. Kyrie spun around to give him the complete picture, peeking back over his shoulder with a salacious lick of the lips. The white micro trunks and matching fishnet tank were his favorite parts of the ample cache he’d received. He’d been beyond excited for Greg to get home and see them.

“Why would they…? You got the job?” A grin broke across Greg’s face, but the disapproval was still evident as he continued to eye Kyrie’s appearance.

“I got the job! I got the job!” He grabbed Greg’s hands and pumped them up and down. “I’m modeling with Anders Berglund! Anders. Berglund! The Swedish supermodel! We’re partners for the No Black, No White shoot!”

He clasped his hands together while the rest of his body vibrated with pent-up energy. Anders Berglund was gargantuan, his gorgeous face on nearly every magazine cover in the grocery store checkout aisle. Kyrie’s fairy godmother had waved a magic wand over him, and Greg just stood there with his forehead puckered.

Greg slid his arms around Kyrie, rubbing his back as if he were cold. “So…this is what you’re gonna be wearing?”

“Maybe. Who knows? They gave us a few outfits to try on for size.”

“This is not an outfit.” Greg rubbed the holey fabric between his fingers.

Kyrie canted his head, eyebrows lifting as he delivered his best You’re kidding, right? stare. “This is only a sample. There will be all kinds of clothes at the shoot. I’m sure they’ll pick the best of the best after we’re done.”

“Won’t posing half-naked hurt your acting career?”

Kyrie scoffed, rolling his eyes. “No! Watch how many doors this opens. Just you wait.”

“And this is for what? Gay rights or…something?”

Kyrie ramped up the baleful expression. “Have you been listening to anything I’ve said for the past month? It’s not just gay. It’s everything. A campaign to call attention to all shades of the sexual identity spectrum. We gays are pretty widely accepted these days, you might be surprised to know.”

Greg’s arms stiffened around him, and Kyrie bit down on a sigh. Yes, we gays. Including you. Or maybe bi sits better, but you’ve been sticking it to a dude for almost a year and a half now. Time to officially join the not-so-straight club.

Kyrie expelled a frustrated breath after all. “It’s a phenomenal thing to be part of, never mind the sweet paycheck I’ll be pullin’ in. Never mind that I’ll be working with Anders Fucking Berglund and how much visibility I’ll get out of it.” He squeaked, elation bubbling from him despite Greg’s muted response.

“And I thought his first name was bad,” Greg groused, even as his fingers tested the thin mesh over Kyrie’s back and traveled lower.

Kyrie freely admitted he was damned stunning in the getup. All the white clothing they’d given him popped against the brown skin he’d inherited from his mother. Conversely, Anders was the fairest lad in all the land. He had pale blond hair and porcelain skin, fractured only by startlingly dark eyebrows and a couple of highly fortuitous moles rumored to have launched his career. He’d be dressed in black and guaranteed to look amazing. Together…this was going to be fucking epic.

“I thought you’d be proud of me.” Kyrie pouted, simultaneously arching his ass into Greg’s touch like a cat begging for attention.

“Of course I’m proud of you. I just worry about…well—”

“Everything?” Kyrie reached up to stroke Greg’s cheek, loving the feel of his trimmed beard and mustache combo. It could be soft, skimming over Kyrie’s nipples while Greg flicked a tongue and lit them on fire, or it could be coarse, bordering on harsh, as Greg went savage licking Kyrie’s ass and balls. Sure, that sort of thing was usually reserved for the times Greg had a few drinks on board and abandoned his inhibitions fully. But, oh God, when it happened…

Kyrie’s dick swelled thinking about Greg’s tongue swirling over his asshole. “Want me to pour you a little whiskey to help you wind down after your hard—” he squeezed Greg’s cock through his suit pants, “—day, sexy?”

Greg grunted and rocked his hips into Kyrie’s hand. “I can always use a little tension release.” His eyes, hooded, stared at Kyrie’s lips.

He parted them slowly and dragged his tongue tip across his top teeth. “I think I have one of those stress balls around here somewhere.”

Firm and fast, Greg hauled him flush against his chest and stole Kyrie’s breath. His fingers explored Kyrie’s ass crack—crude, demanding, bunching the satiny material between his cheeks before dragging lower to feather behind his nuts.

“Think I found my two favorite stress balls right here.” Greg wore a wicked grin. “Trying to hide ’em on me?”

He gathered the back of Kyrie’s tiny tight boxers, taking the wedgie to another level. He gasped and lifted on his toes. His sac was trapped, kinked up on one side of the seam almost painfully tight. Greg cupped Kyrie’s slung nuts, the touch so gentle it reminded him of ice over fire. Cool, crisp sheets after a day from hell.

Kyrie loved being the seductive bottom, igniting Greg with his teasing and flirting, backing off while he simmered. Then Kyrie would stoke him higher, feeding the inferno until Greg eventually crumbled and became the domineering top. Usually they made the game last, pushing each other’s buttons in their own drawn-out version of foreplay.

The sliver of pain slicing down Kyrie’s crack paired succulently with the throbbing wood pressed against his lower belly. All signs told him they were going straight to sudden death—no warm-up, no scrimmage, just hot, fast action. Game on.

SERIES: At The Candy Apple Series n. 1

RELEASE DATE: 20th June, 2016

BLURB: FHandsome Tom Wells sets lonely Scott Palmer’s heart racing as he watches Tom come and go from his apartment across the street. Scott longs to meet Tom, and when he scores a new job delivering goods for a local distributer, fate hands him the opportunity.
Tom works in a nightclub—the Candy Apple, and in the sultry environs, a masked stranger seduces Tom. The seeds of passion are sown, but just who has ignited Tom’s passion?
Scott’s longing to know Tom leads him to join the elite nightclub. On his first visit, the club holds a masquerade event.
Who is kissing who? Who’s under the black velvet mask?
An erotic MM romance, with a twist and HEA.

lorraineHave you ever fallen in love with someone from afar, see them everyday, wanting them but knowing it’s never going to happen?  this is what Elodie Parkes delivered up in this very stylish storyline.

Scott Palmer is in love with a mystery man that lives opposite him.  He “spies” on him, he can’t help himself and longs for an opportunity to meet him.  He knows nothing about the man, not even if he’s gay? – sounding  a bit stalkerish? well not really….ok, maybe a little bit.  And that’s the route I thought the author was going to take, but I was wrong!

Scott decides to follow his “obsession” (you can see why I thought him a Stalker) and finds out that he works in a Club.  The Club is called Candy Apple and Tom (Scott’s obsession) is the Bar Manager.  It’s a private club and after a bit of on-line research, Scott applies for membership (still stalkerish though).  Of course this is a steamy love story, so both Scott and Tom meet, but as the Club is holding a Masquerade Ball, both are wearing masks, so Tom doesn’t see Scott’s face.  After a very sensuous and steamy encounter between them, Tom wants to see Scott again.  This of course causes problems for Scott.  He told a few little white lies to Tom, including his real name, but also horror of horrors, Tom knows that some “creepy guy” is watching him from across the road where he lives and the one thing Scott cannot let Tom find out, is that he is the “creepy guy”.  Will Scott be able to hold onto Tom when he finds out that is the creepy guy?  Read to find out yourselves.

Now I have to say that I’m really getting into Elodie Parkes easy, sexy style of writing, it really is quite addictive.  I’ve only read one other book of hers and this was so very different, which only highlights her creative talent.  What I liked about this book was that she didn’t overplay her hand, she kept it realistic, you could see how this change of events could of happened and the mess that little white lies can create, was very plausible, we try and get ourselves out of a hole but end up even deeper than before!  The Masquerade Ball’s mix up between men was again feasible (that jerk was exactly that….a jerk!).

The author gave us a bit of everything – stalkerish MC, insta-love, hot salacious sex scenes, a well thought out plot, a bit of angst and a masked and unmasked love story.  Thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what this author has up her writers sleeve next?

5 big fat stars from me.

BLURB: Heath Crowley is an Australian man, born with two different coloured eyes and the gift—or curse—of having premonition dreams. He also has nothing left to live for. Twelve months after having his life upended, his dreams tell him where he needs to be. So with nothing―and no one―to keep him in Sydney, he simply boards a plane for Tanzania. Not caring if he lives or dies, Heath walks into a tribe of Maasai and asks to stay. Granted permission, he leaves behind the name and heartbreak of Heath and starts over with the new Maasai name of Alé.
From the day of his birth, Damu has always been an outcast. The son of the chief and brother to the great warrior leader, Damu is reminded constantly that he’s not good enough to be considered a man in the eyes of his people. Ordered to take responsibility for Alé, Damu shares with him the ways of the Maasai, just as Alé shares with Damu the world outside the acacia thorn fence. But it’s more than just a cultural exchange. It’s about trust and acceptance, finding themselves, and a true sense of purpose.
Under the African sky on the plains of the Serengeti, Heath finds more than just a reason to live. He finds a man like no other, and a reason to love.

lorraineHe found his heaven and therefore a reason to live.

I believe this is going to be one of those books you either love or hate, some will label it as controversial, others will label it as a wonderful but somewhat painful love story of two men from very different cultural backgrounds, coming together with love in their hearts.

I’m a romance reader, so my review is based on the love storyline that unfolded, not any political correctness or the probability factor of something like this happening, it’s a fiction love story and should be treated as such.

“Keper ainei” he murmured “Keper ainei” – My heaven.  My heaven.

Heath Crowley has an incredible gift, or should that read an incredible curse?  He has premonition dreams.  His life has never been easy, his sexual preference alienated him from his family and when he finds love, it’s taken from him cruelly and leaves a deep emotional scar, life has no meaning for him now.

In one of his dreams, he is told to go the Maasai in Tanzania, not caring if he lives or dies and after telling his mother exactly what he thinks of her as a person, he leaves for Tanzania with only a rucksack as his companion.

Kasisi, the leader of this group of Maasai, accepts him into the tribe.  He has been expecting him through his own dreams.  He believes that Heath is the ghost of the revered Kafir and bought to them to show them the way forward.  Heath is then renamed “Ale” and given into the care of Damu.

Damu is a social outcast in the village, something that Ale struggles with.  To him, Damu has a serene calmness about him and projects this calmness to him, a calmness that he has never felt before and so their love story begins.

But it’s not all plain sailing to get to their HEA.  Life in the Serengeti is harsh, cultural differences and beliefs become major hurdles to overcome, can these two men, whose love if found out, would mean instant death, overcome those hurdles and be truly together?

For me, the author wrote the most amazing character in Damu, this was his book all the way.  His acceptance of his position within the tribe was heart-breaking to me.  But seeing him blossom and flower with Ale was a delight to read and made up for the tears and injustices.  The  delight in seeing things for the first time was a truly humbling experience and his easy acceptance to all things new was heart lifting and joyous, as I said, the author wrote a truly marvellous character.

4* heartfelt stars from me.

“I think Aurora is disappointed in me.”

“What?” Erik rubbed at his eye. It wasn’t even early morning, judging by the weak light coming through the blinds from the streetlights. “Who?”

“Aurora. The wedding planning app.” Daniel lay on his back, wide awake and staring up at the ceiling.

“The wedding planning app is not a sentient being. It has no feelings or opinions.”

“I feel like she’s judging me. I’m sorry if I woke you up.”

“Oh my god, go to sleep.”

“I can’t. I’m never going to sleep ever again.” Daniel tugged the blanket higher up his chest, folding his arms over it and exhaling heavily.

“You’re being dramatic.”

“I’ve got too many things buzzing in my head. There’s too many things I’m going to forget to do.”

“I thought that’s why you had that damn app, so you don’t have to remember anything; it’s all right there saved on your tablet.”

“Yes, but I have to remember to put everything in it.″ Daniel rolled over. ″She doesn’t just know everything—”

“A: She is not a she. It is an it. B: What are we doing tomorrow?”

“Oh my god, what is the point of sharing the app calendar if you’re never going to look at it?” Daniel wailed.

“I look at it. It’s just crammed so full of everything that I have no idea what’s going on when.”

Daniel blew out his breath. ”Look, I know you don’t like the calendar. We’ve been over that, but I don’t know how else to keep track of all of these appointments and deadlines.”

“I told you, we could color-code them, or something,” Erik rolled to his side and punched at his pillow.

“Aurora doesn’t give you that option.”

“Well, it should.”

“I agree, but there’s nothing I can do about that.” Daniel bunched his pillow up under his head. “Tomorrow, we have four appointments to meet with caterers: two in the morning, two in the afternoon.”

“Why so many in one day?”

“It’s the only day we both have available this week, and I am not going to make any decisions about the food at our reception without you there to discuss it.”

“Seriously, you could just make a choice, and I’ll live with it.” Erik rolled over.

“I don’t want you to just ‘live with it,’ Erik.″ Daniel tried to keep his voice neutral, but failed. ″This is our wedding. I don’t want you to just ‘live with it.’”

“Why are you getting so worked up about it?”

“We only get one chance at this. Everything needs to be perfect.”

“You’re going to drive us both crazy, you know that, right?” Erik tugged the blankets back up over his shoulder.

“Well, then, we’ll both be crazy.” Daniel squinted up at the ceiling. He was so tired of making these decisions. Why were there so many options? Why were there so many decisions? The planning was getting on Erik’s nerves; he was getting on Erik’s nerves. Erik was getting on his nerves. They were both just a pile of irritated nerves because the to-do list didn’t seem to be getting any smaller.

Daniel’s phone chimed with another notification from Aurora.

New Private Message from: MommyMargie.

His mother probably had another ludicrous suggestion for the reception, or a passive-aggressive reminder of the hymn that she and his father had had played at their wedding, that their grandparents had had played at their wedding and that she expected to hear at his wedding. Or maybe his parents had decided to paint the living room green. Who knew?
