BLURB: Ian Pierce is the chef and part owner of the hottest restaurant in Cincinnati, his chosen family is full of happy relationships, and the scruffy, snarky cop who has been haunting his dreams is one step closer to being in his bed. But everything comes crashing down when the past he narrowly escaped nine years ago comes to a deadly head.

Hollis Banner was enamored of Ian at first sight. He’s kept his distance, knowing the gorgeous, self-confident man is out of his league. Yet there’s no standing aside when Boris Jagger escapes a raid. Jagger’s world has been nearly destroyed and this time, the crime boss is coming after Ian and his friends personally.

Hollis will do whatever it takes to keep Ian safe as they escape to a safe house with a couple of Ian’s overprotective friends. And Ian finds himself in a race to unlock painful memories—memories containing information that could take down the very last of Jagger’s illegal operations forever.

FedericaFirstly I want to say that this is a really wonderful Series and I have loved every book.  Each book was based on one of four friends – Lucas, Snow, Rowe and Ian.  This book is Ian’s story.
I’ll be honest and say that Ian has never been one of my favourites, he’s been too much in the shadows with his friends in the other books but my curiosity was roused and I was looking forward to finding out his story.
We already knew bits about him from the other books – how they all became friends and Ian’s tragic past (which had already shredded my heart to pieces) but despite everything that had happened, he was not only strong and positive but a wonderful character as well.
So as I have said, I was looking forward to finding out more about him and hopefully keeping my heart whole in the process as this time, I was prepared.
But I wasn’t……..
I don’t want to go down the spoiler route, because I feel that this is the type of book you need to go in blind and read the storyline unprepared, but I will say this……I lost count the number of times I almost had a heart attack, the twists and turns of the storyline continued until the very last page, I was on the edge of my seat.  Yes, it’s full of action but also it’s full of love as well, this book like all the others in the Series, is simply amazing.
The two authors are also amazing and very talented.  But I will say as well,  that they are also diabolical!!! they put us readers and their characters through so much, but I may forgive them in time because Ian and Hollis are just perfect together.
The thought that this is the last book in the Series is shattering, it’s going to be so hard to let go of these guys but we have Rowe and Noah’s and Ian and Hollis’s short stories to look forward to.

****I would like to thank the author for the privilege and opportunity of reading this ARC.  My review is an honest opinion of the book****

BLURB: It’s not easy for Spenser Roland to admit it, but he needs help. Christmas is just a few days away, and he can’t face the idea of showing up to his family’s gathering alone … again. They want to see him happily settled, but Spenser doesn’t date. He can’t risk it if he wants to protect his family. But one unexpected night with Evan Scott has him thinking that maybe he can strike a deal that will make his family happy and give him a little holiday cheer as well.

Evan never should have accepted a ride home from the sexy-as-hell corporate executive, but he’s proud that he stuck to his guns. He’s done with the one-night stand game. He wants something real. Something that lasts. But when Spenser returns, asking him to pose as his boyfriend over the weekend at a Christmas celebration, Evan is sure he’s lost his mind.

But he can’t say no.

Maybe it’s the shadow of loneliness in Spenser’s bright blue eyes that’s too much like his own. Or maybe it’s his heart-stopping smile.

Either way, Evan knows he’s on thin ice with Spenser, risking his own rules and heart, but Spenser is worth the risk.

I’m way behind on my Christmas reading this year and now wondering why I left it so late (this being my first Christmas read this year) as this was just so good, I loved it

Spencer and Evan are so very very different from each other, light and dark but together they make the perfect blend. Spencer lives in the closet as far as work is concerned but is very happy with his no commitment one night stands when he visits gay clubs and bars, whereas Evan’s past relationships have left him hurting and now tired of the meaningless “flirting”, he wants more.

They meet in a bar. The chemistry between them is instant, but Spencer is Spencer and therefore use to hiding his feelings.

But Christmas is looming and Spencer needs a fake boyfriend for his family’s festivities, so he asks Evan and Evan agrees. Spencer’s family were just wonderful and so loving they take to Evan immediately.  Spencer then realises that he needs to make some changes….

I like holiday stories but I feel that sometimes they are too short and therefore we loose something in the reading, but not this one. This one was perfect. Jocelyn Drake gave me a perfect love story with the right amount of tension but so full of love.

I’ll admit that I was a little bit worried because I have read the wonderful Unbreakable Series (written with Rinda Elliott) and I know that the author loves her character to suffer “a little bit”….well I have to admit I like that too, but this is Christmas and Christmas holidays  is not a time for suffering when reading a book, it just wouldn’t be right!

It’s a little gem, romantic, sweet and sexy.

BLURB:  Nine months ago, Rowan Ward thought he had it all. Now he’s fighting to pull his shredded life together, buried in work and battling the kind of grief that destroys a man’s soul. When fires spring up around Cincinnati threatening Rowe’s friends and clients, he’s thrilled to find his old Army buddy, Noah Keegan in town. They were a hell of a team when they served together, so in-sync, it was rumored they could read each other’s minds.

Noah thought devoting his life to the Army would be enough. Then he realized he had no family and only one friend he cared about. When his enlistment was up, he found himself standing on Rowe’s doorstep, looking only for friendship but secretly hoping for more. He needs to know if their one unbelievable night together years ago wasn’t a mistake.

Caught in a dangerous game of fire and bullets, neither expects the inferno of emotion that ignites between them. One Rowe isn’t prepared to accept. One that could break Noah.

This is one of those reviews that I’ve had to really think about. There’s so much I want to tell you but, at the same time, I also do not want to spoil the delight of what is awaiting you………….

I was so excited when I received this ARC, deep down I knew that Rowe and Noah’s story would be unforgettable, even though Noah is unknown to us till now. But I was nervous as well, my expectations were set so high, as I absolutely adore this Series and kept thinking “what if it doesn’t reach that high pedestal I’ve set? What if it fails to enthral me?”

Well let’s answer that one immediately and get it out of the way.

The two authors, Rinda Elliott and Jocelynn Drake did an amazing job, magnificent job is maybe a better word, I just loved it.

Not only was Rowe and Noah’s storyline perfect – full of tension, very sexy with lots of feelings involved – but the whole book was too. The suspense had you hanging onto every word right from the start to the very end.

Have you ever felt when reading that the actual plot line gets in the way of the love story and is almost annoying? Well I have, but in this book, it’s as important as the love story itself, they run hand in hand together, both compelling reading.

The tension was maintained throughout, we were given twists and turns galore, you couldn’t afford to put the book down in case you missed something, compulsive reading doesn’t even begin to describe it.

I freely admit that I fell for the spell Rowe and Noah cast, but that’s not all, Lucas (this guy will never leave us in peace – you will see what I mean) features, as well as Andrej, Snow and Jude. And we also get a little bit more on Ian….

So looking forward to reading the last book in this most amazing Series but for now whilst we wait, enjoy this one. You won’t be disappointed.

REVIEW: “SHATTER” by Jocelynn Drake & Rinda Elliott

TITLE: Shatter
AUTHOR: Jocelynn Drake & Rinda Elliott
SERIES: Unbreakable Bonds Series – book 2
PUBLISHER: CreateSpace
COVER ARTIST: Stephen Drake
GENRE: Contemporary
PRICE: $ 4.99 e-book on Amazon
LENGHT: 312 pages
RELEASE DATE: 26th April 2016

BLURB:  Maverick trauma surgeon Ashton “Snow” Frost keeps the world at a distance, relying only on his three closest friends to keep him connected. But when a ghost from their past returns to Cincinnati, Snow stands to lose everyone he loves. Framed for murder and reeling from attacks on his friends, Snow is pushed to his breaking point.

Jude Torres won’t let the doc shatter. The paramedic has been attracted to the doctor since he first laid eyes on him at the hospital, even if the arrogant, solitary man doesn’t fit into any of his plans. One hot, reckless kiss shows that Snow isn’t who he appears to be. And one night together will never be enough. Jude will fight for the doc.

Fight to keep him whole. Fight to keep him safe. Fight to simply keep him.

I loved it when I’m right. I knew when reading “Shiver”, that Snow would be everything I expected, wanted and so much more and I was right.

As in the first book, the four main MCs are again featured, but I will tell you now that Rowe is MIA for most of the book and no, I won’t tell you why! This story is truly breathtaking for so many reasons and again I’m not going to tell you, you need to discover this for yourself.  But I will let you on one little thing……..Snow is in for a big surprise.
In the first book, Snow was the tough one. Very dominant and doesn’t have relationships, just causal encounters.   He’s like an onion, I know that may not be the most flattering of comparisons, but he has so many layers and every time he sheds one, you fall more in love with him.  And Jude?  Jude is just perfect for him.
Jude is a paramedic working in the same hospital as Snow (he’s a surgeon) and at first, this was a problem. Snow never ever mixes business with pleasure, especially with a co-worker.  However, Jude doesn’t give up easily, he wants Snow and is determined to get him.  You have to admire his tenacity, because there were a lot of twists and turns to navigate and he knows what Snow needs….him!

If you like your guys complicated, then this is the book for you.
But it’s not all about Snow and Jude, we get to see how Lucas and Andrei’s relationship is getting on, more on Ian’s past and we are still suffering with Rowe.
If you like complicated guys this is the book for you.
The only word that is fitting to describe this series is spectacular, I absolutely love it and can’t wait for the next two books.

The third is going to be released on the 24th October, so mark your calendars ready and if you haven’t read book 1, you still have plenty of time to read and fall in love.

RELEASE DATE: 27th October 2015

BLURB:  Lucas Vallois is always in control. He’s building an empire in the glittering city of Cincinnati and created his own family from his three close friends. The self-made millionaire has everything he wants within his tight grasp. But his world starts to crumble after he’s jumped by a trio of thugs late one night after leaving a club. The warning is clear—give up his new property venture or end up dead. Caving to the demands of his friends, Lucas accepts the help of bodyguard, Andrei Hadeon, as he hunts for the source of this new threat. But as Lucas gets closer to uncovering the danger, he realizes the sexy Romanian bodyguard poses an even bigger risk to his carefully constructed world. Trapped by a need he never expected, Lucas must find a way to deny the shiver of longing he cannot control. His brother. His warrior. His heart. Four friends. Unbreakable bonds.

How in the world did I miss this? I’m kicking myself because this was just wonderful,  I need more and ashamed of myself for not reading it sooner!
I saw this some time ago on Amazon, the cover immediately caught my eye as did the blurb, I knew it was something that I could enjoy but I never realised just how much and how these two wonderful authors would hold me spellbound, I really couldn’t get enough.
The characters are just wonderful, all four of them. I fell immediately in love with Lucas, Rowe, Snow and Ian.  These aren’t just a group of friends, they are family.
I was so envious of their friendship, the bond they have is strong and palpable.
Though this storyline focuses on Lucas, we see enough of all four together for you to want to read their stories and trust me on this, you will want too. Book 2 is already out, Book 3 will be out in October (hooray) but we will have to wait for Book 4, but judging from I’ve just read, it’s going to worth the wait.
Lucas is the head of this group. He is the rock. He’s a self made millionaire, the owner of the hottest nightclubs in the city and seriously grounded.
Because of a business deal, he gets attacked and injured. Rowe immediately decides that he needs a bodyguard.  And this bodyguard is what changed Lucas’s life forever…..
Anyone that reads my reviews, knows that I love the slow burn and Lucas and Andrei gave it to me, exactly as I like it.
As the story develops, we see all the different aspects of Lucas (great, interesting character) but also just how complicated Andrei is! Andrei was more difficult for me, I think I got so carried away by Lucas, Rowe, Snow and Ian, that he slipped under my radar a little bit as they stole all my attention.
This is suspense at its very best and as such, I can’t give anything away – you will have to read it for yourselves but I will tell you this, Lucas and Andrei are hot! your heart is going to beat faster – you’ve been warned.
I strongly recommend that you read book 1.5 “Lucas” immediately after this one, nope, not going to tell you why and spoil the fun.
Would love to tell you more but I’m off to read Shatter, Snow is waiting for me…..
