BLURB: Michael Adams, seeking a week of relaxation on the beaches of Rio, wants nothing more than a couple of airport transfers and to take in a sight or two. But when his sexy, young Brazilian driver Gabriel makes himself available for a day of touring, Michael takes him up on the offer. The attraction is mutual, except that Gabriel is not looking for a rebound romance after a bad breakup from his abusive boyfriend. And who wants to start a relationship that must be over by the end of the week, leaving both parties on two different continents?

But urge and desire can be strong, maybe even enough to get through some hurdles, such as Gabriel’s hostile sister? Enjoy the tropical warmth of the beaches of Rio and the sultry jungles of Brazil, where almost anything is possible in this m/m tale of erotic romance. Adult language warning.

lorraine

After journeying through three countries so far and finding that special loves which is a keeper forever, I was a bit concerned that the author may be a bit jet-lagged, his circadian rhythm out of sync with his visa’s (lol) and therefore a bit lacklustre in his latest destination of Rio de Janeiro, but if anything, he STRUCK GOLD IN RIO!! For me, the best one yet.

My imagination was captured with his descriptive vibe of Rio – sandy golden beaches, lush tropical greenery and the golden tans of the Rio men themselves but it was Michael Adams and Gabriel Feliz that truly captivated me and held my attention throughout. If ever two men deserved to be together, it’s these two.

I’ve been thinking why this Series ticks my boxes so well and decided it’s all down to the simplicity of it – tourist going on holiday, meeting his guide and falling in love. Add PJ Nevada’s romantic flair of writing sexy romance and the pure elegance of that simplicity, we have another winner on our hands.

It may be all down to the heat of Rio, but this was definitely the hottest and sexiest book of the Series so far, they samba’d those bedsheets many, many times. But it’s not just the sex, it’s the clever way the author makes his MC’s so endearing, they are not only likeable and lovable, but realistic as well.  They have problems, usually down to the legal intricacies of staying together and I don’t know whether the author has inside information or whether his research is meticulous, and I suspect it’s the meticulous aspect, but it’s very believable and I have no doubt that it is correct and it’s this intricate detailing that makes his stories stand out from the rest.

We’ve all been on holidays, fallen in love and realise on return, that it was lust and not love, but this author’s stories are love stories, they don’t return home and move on to someone else, they return and stay.

Five golden Brazilian stars from me.

RELEASE DATE: 18th December 2016

BLURB: Coming out of an unhealthy relationship, New Yorker Joe Cooper finds himself on a private tour of exotic Morocco as a parting gift from his ex-lover. Though not quite prepared, Joe still ventures on by himself with his holiday, paired with an eye-catching local man named Sam as his guide, who appears to be as straight and conservative as possible. Despite being charmed by his guide’s enthusiasm and swarthy good looks, Joe tries to focus on the beautiful country around him, which is filled with incredible history and a friendly, vibrant culture.

The more time they spend together, the more Joe and Sam notice each other. Whether trekking among Roman ruins or through scenic valleys and half-lit alleys of colorful old markets, each place suggests and entices romantic opportunity. But such encounters are not allowed in this culture. The situation remains restrained, until Joe and Sam, becoming fast friends, find themselves alone in a tented camp in the Sahara.

Love can develop in all situations, regardless of, and even in spite of, the circumstances. Come meet Joe and Sam and follow their adventures across Morocco and find out if they can make their love last longer than Joe’s vacation, and overcome the distance of an ocean and beliefs which may keep them apart.

“One who prevades the great universe is seen by none unless a man knows the unfolding love”.  (Moroccan Proverb)

………and both Jonathan (Joe) and Sameer (Sam) found their own unfolding love in the scorching heat (not only in temperature but also in sexual tension) of Morocco.

I’ve been to Morocco and this book by PJ Nevada reminded me why I need to go back.  I loved the hustle and bustle of the country itself, their rich culture, historical heritage and especially the Moroccan people themselves.  They are a hospitable nation and though very religious, pretty easy going.

But there are rules.  Some legal, some social etiquette – but these must be observed as strictly as their legal laws.

Jonathan finds this out for himself when he meets and falls in love with Sameer, his personal guide on a holiday to Morocco.

They say that love can conquer all, but can it when traditional culture and family responsibilities are ingrained into you from an early age?

The author tackled a very difficult subject with style (granted it was a very sexy style but we are talking PJ Nevada here!).  He didn’t preach on the wrongs of the uneducated and bigots that sour the world we live in but delivered the facts and realities facing Jonathan and Sameer in taking their love to the next level of commitment rather than a quick holiday fling.  I was routing for them all the way.

I like this Guided Series, I always feel that PJ has personally visited the countries featuring, his descriptive prose and spot on research breathing life into the storylines and I seriously hope that he is a well-seasoned traveller, as I need more.

Five Guided Heart felt stars from me.

BLURB: Max Monroe should have considered himself lucky. He had a home of his own and a successful career, but when describing himself, only one word came to mind – boring. His love life was lackluster at best and he desperately needed a change. One night after work, he stepped out for a drink, surprised that the bar he chose was presenting an all-male review. He chats it up with another guy at the bar, Luke Williams, but is soon shocked when his drinking mate turns out to be one of the strippers in the show.

Max finds himself chatting with Luke after the show, the conversation much more interesting this time. Luke really tests Max’s confidence when the discussion focuses on the world of male stripping. Luke tries to get Max to understand what it would be like to remove his clothes before a room full of perfect strangers. Soon after, in a back room of the club, Luke shows Max a few hot moves, and some stimulating results develop. The action follows them home.

A relationship between Max and Luke quickly develops as they dance and strut their way deeper into the world of the male stripper. The guys face coworkers and fans, not to mention a few haters. The challenge is to see whether that can survive it all. In this erotic romance, learn a few tricks of the trade while savoring the hot, blossoming relationship of these two guys.

lorraine

This is the P.J.Nevada that I love, he was on top form for this one, delivering a cute but sexy love story between an Accountant and a Stripper (sorry, Exotic Dancer).

Max is a 28 year old, vest wearing Accountant. His assistant/surrogate mother in the making, Annette, admires him but also despairs at his practically non-existent social life and we all know what they say about all work and no play……

So she basically challenges him to get one!

Now Max’s façade of a serious, nerdy Accountant is very true, but under that vest of his, lays someone else entirely and though Max doesn’t know it yet, it’s waiting to break out. On a whim, he goes to The Spy Club, he’s been there before but is unaware that tonight is Ladies Night, which is something that Max is definitely not interested in, until he sees one of the Strippers (sorry, Exotic Dancer).  Now THAT is something he is very interested in and unbelievably to Max, Luke the Dancer (ok, stripper) is very interested in Max too.

As I said, P.J. Nevada was on top form with this one. Not only did he match the perfect pair together, he showed us that when in love with the right person, anything can happen, inhibitions go out the window and you become proud of the person you are with but also the person you can be.

The sex scenes were sizzling but you also felt their love for each other. Two very different people, bonded like glue or even Velcro (yep, bit of a spoiler there) but I did say that Max had layers under that vest of his.

Max the Accountant and Luke the Stripper (I think that by now we can forego the Exotic Dancer title) made an unusual but perfect pairing. Add a little bit of angst (where would we be without P.J.s angst?) and we have a great read, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Would love to know though where the author did his research? Any comment P.J.?

Great fun and highly recommended.

BLURB: Holiday in Venice, Italy. What can be more romantic, especially when you have a young sexy guide named Luca, with an Italian accent to die for? That’s what Mark, visiting from Denver thought, except for the fact that he had just exited a tumultuous relationship of his own. The last thing he needed was to land in a rebound romance, especially with a guy that doesn’t seem all that interested, or maybe even isn’t gay. With an ocean keeping their lives separated, things do not look very promising.

But Mark senses something more, maybe something special, and tries to get closer to Luca, without much success. When Mark is faced with an unexpected problem, it is Luca who comes to his rescue. Faced with this, along with an unwanted ex, Luca and Mark begin to recognize the slowly burgeoning relationship that is forming between them.

Along with an unwanted past, Luca needs to face family that hasn’t been very supportive of his life or his lifestyle. The more that Luca and Mark, now lovingly called Marco, want to be together, the more things they find keeping them apart. Valiantly, they try to find a path that will lead to a future together, one on the same continent.

Follow the story of Luca and Marco in this erotic romance, and see if the charms of the old world can overcome the tough realities of today.

lorraine

P.J. Nevada guided us through this steamy, sexy yet sweet, storyline like a professional tour guide, in fact, it was as if he had taken notes from Luca Lazzaro, who is not only one of the main MCs but also a tour guide himself.

He knew his topic, no way did this author “Google” his research, it was too accurate, too precise, he must have visited himself and fell in love with Venice and put this love into a book. When reading I felt the vibrancy of Italy as a whole, I could smell the Italian coffee, well they say that Venice is The Queen of the Adriatic, well P.J. Nevada is King of sweet romance.

This book had one of the best lines that I have read in a long time. When Mark Rollins catches his boyfriend with another man and is challenged by him for his name?  Mark, with a cavalier look over the shoulder as he is leaving, flings back –

                                                    “you can call me history”

I LOVED that line.

And history he was, well maybe…….

What better way to get over a broken heart than go to the land of passion, historic culture and colour. Amidst all the colour and vibrancy, Luca Lazzaro stands out amongst the crowd and Paul wants him, or as the Italians would say “e stato un colpo di fulmine” – it was love at first sight (well nearly love at first sight).

And the author gave us their story. It was a simple love story, minor angst.  Just two men falling in love and trying to find a way to stay together, but do they succeed?

4* from me, the true beauty in this love story was its simplicity.

BLURB: Vick Salerno, sexy nephew of a local gangster, tried to stay on the right side of the law, despite his uncle trying to pull him into the family business. Fighting to stay legit and make it on his own, he gets detoured when he meets Joey Peters, the sexy young police man who has eyes for him.
As Vick’s relationship develops, it is threatened by his uncle’s illegal activities, which potentially could ruin his police officer boyfriend’s reputation by being involved romantically. Vick, while going back to school, gets a part time position with the police department, in turn creating greater challenges which may endanger the love blossoming between the two men.
The big question is whether their love can survive and overcome the fact that their lives are on opposite sides of right and wrong. Will Vick’s uncle, not easily accepting his nephew’s sexual orientation, throw obstacles in his nephew’s path? Despite having some really strong feelings for each other, being together and enjoying a steamy love life, Vick and Joey are forced to make some difficult decisions in this story of m/m erotica/romance.

lorraine

I freely admit that my addiction to P.J. Nevada’s slightly erotic, easy style of writing is never going to be fully under control, but do you know what? I don’t care – if he writes em’, I’m going to read em’.

This latest book, The Wrong Side, wasn’t his normal, light, tongue-in-cheek humour that I come to expect from him, it was a bit cheesy in places and as I quite like cheese, it worked for me. What didn’t work for me though, was the added pickle to spice up the cheese.  The pickle being Smooch – I wanted to stuff his pickle down his own throat!  I didn’t get why the author took that route?

That being said, everything else worked well. Vick was orphaned at a early age, he went to live with his Uncle and Aunt and they raised him.  Now grown, Vick tries to be a good person and keep on the right side of the law, in fact, he would love to work in the legal world.  Unfortunately, his Uncle’s shady dealings, keep him on the wrong side of the law and he frequently expects Vick to help him out with his “business” deals.  Vick loves his Uncle and finds it hard to say “no”.  His Uncle loves Vick as well and does try to keep him on the fringe of things rather than the middle and this seems to be going well until Vick meets and falls for Joey…..a policeman.  Now this does cause problems, not only for Vick, his Uncle but also for Joey himself!

Can these two men wade through the murky waters of their lives and come out clean on the other side, or will they get weighed down with the baggage they carry? For that answer, you will need to read it yourselves.

Four right side stars from me.

They hardly know each other, but the sexual attraction that soon develops between them is mutual and obvious, and the flirting begins. The battle soon becomes finding the right time to properly consummate their relationship, making it finally, truly physical. Work and schedules get in their way, and tempers become short, when they question whether the delays and excuses are real or just a reason to not take things to the next level. It doesn’t take long for their budding relationship to fall apart completely. Are they truly meant to be together? Will they ever hook up? Find out in this sexually explicit m/m erotic romantic story.

lorraine

This GFY latest offering from PJ Nevada is without doubt his best book so far. I loved how he executed his sexy storyline, I was drawn in immediately from page one, I knew instantly that this was my kind of book.

Patrick is a successful lawyer (attorney) but his personal life is a mess. His girlfriend has left him and he’s not as upset as he should be? He realises that his life has now reached limbo status. He’s a regular gym goer, not only does it keep his body in great shape but also lets off the steam as well. At one of his sessions, he meets Logan, another lawyer he knows vaguely.

Logan starts up a conversation….is he flirting with him? Patrick doesn’t know but he does know that his own personal steam is rising and another body part has risen too! . What a shocker!!! Or is it? He’s certainly never ever been interested in another man sexually before, but Logan’s sexy flirting, his great body and the way he keeps referring to him as “old man” (there is a few years age difference) is a real turn on and he likes it, but does he want to explore his feelings further?

I don’t want to give a spoiler, but I think the phone sexing sealed the answer on that one! As I’ve already mentioned the phone sexing, I gotta tell you that that scene was an absolute sexy delight to read – personally, I think that the author may have used some personal knowledge on this, as it was very, very realistic (lol).

Being a high flyer in the legal world, work has a habit of taking over, maybe this is why his relationship with his now ex-girlfriend didn’t work out? and even though Logan is a lawyer himself, it causes problems. Can Patrick and Logan get through this? Is Patrick really ready to admit to being Logan’s boyfriend?

But what really makes this book so special is Patrick and Logan themselves. I loved both characters, Patrick going for what he wants and Logan for his sense of humour and knowing that Patrick is someone worth chasing. At times it was sweet and at others, down right dirty!

The author did a great job on this one and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us with his next book, I’ve no idea what it’s going to be? The author always surprises me and I love surprises.

Five you-can-spot-me-anytime stars from me.

REVIEW: “NOT A PIRATE” by P.J. Nevada

BLURB: James Polk, down on his luck, involuntarily becomes part of the crew of a band of modern day pirates. He soon finds lust and desire cruising along with the crew, until his eyes focus on his captain, a good-looking, stoic loner of a man. But Captain Samuel Baskin makes it clear that love and romance are the last thing on his mind. As James joins the men robbing and stealing along the coast, he does indeed find sex and lust along the way. The crew faces dangers from the authorities and the ocean itself. The big question though is whether James can find his own great romantic adventure on the high seas, or will he just become pirate booty? Arrrgh! (sexually explicit m/m/ material)

lorraine

“Well shivers me timbers”……a modern day pirate erotica.

This is a light, fun read to loose yourself in after the stresses of the holidays. Now I have to say that it didn’t start that way.  James is at the end of his tether, his life is falling around him and he can’t see any reason to continue.  So with his last few dollars and a bottle of whiskey, he hires a small boat and sails into the sunset, with no thoughts of returning.  Of course this being a romance/erotica storyline, James was never going to end up on some seabed – definitely somebody’s bed, but not a seabed!

He’s saved by a group of sexy pirates. “Walk the Plank” or join the sexy crew is the options offered to him.  Having sobered up, joining the crew seems a better option than a watery grave and the sexy Captain doesn’t influence his decision at all – yeah right.  And it’s now a case of “the life of a pirate for me” is now Jamie’s new career choice,  but this is no Peter Pan story, it’s erotica – morale’s are not a featuring factor, so forget that idea and enjoy the romp.

The romp between Jamie and Samuel (the Captain)was hot! They made the high seas bubble like a thermal spring from a volcano – PJ Nevada certainly knows how to write a good sex scene.

But it’s not all plain sailing, even for pirates, something goes terribly wrong and decisions have to be made…….

As I have already said, it was simple, sexy, fun but delivered in a competent writing style, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Five Jolly Roger stars from me.

BLURB: There is nothing worse than getting on the wrong side of a vampire, especially one you have the hots for! College boy Chad Hart has such a problem! A jock with a sexy body, Chad has no problem finding a bed mate, but is now threatened by his very violent vamp lover. Chad is forced to take matters into his own hands. A computer genius, he discovers his full potential and a soul mate as well, half way around the world. But now, to keep his new life safe and secure, he must confront his mortal enemy and ex-lover. In this explicit m/m tale of erotic romance, will it be science or myth that comes to the rescue and provide the tools to destroy his hot vampire once and for all?

lorraine

I don’t know about hot for the vampire, it was certainly hot for the sex scenes – oh my goodness PJ Nevada, you made me blush

For me, this is definitely the author’s best book so far.  I say so far, because I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next?  every book that I have read of his, impresses me more each time.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I get the impression that he is now more confident in his writing abilities and this showed when reading.  It’s a lot longer for a start, the storyline flowed fluently with much more detailing than his other books and the sex scenes?  boy-oh-boy

were they good!  and his character’s development was pretty awesome too,

Chad is a student – an exceptionally bright student and he has a very serious problem – he has weird and very frightening reoccurring dreams, someone or something is chasing him and not for sexy, naughty intentions….

As I have said already, Chad is highly intelligent and he soon deduces that his dreams are becoming a reality, right on his doorstep.  He moves far, far away.  There he meets the love of his life, Ken.  But even a logical mind coupled with a high IQ can get things wrong – leaving one place doesn’t mean that you leave the problem behind!  and soon it’s not only Chad but Ken as well, battling the Demons.  Of course, they don’t battle all the time and this leaves for some very sexy times.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was different and held my interest throughout.

Five hot for the sex stars from me.

BLURB: Nick Esposito, divorced, and Charlie Tanner, a widower, are two hot guys already in their mid thirties, and now single. They never thought they were really into guys; they were just curious once or twice. But then they found each other, after a couple of chance meetings over the years. Now, however, they find themselves thinking about each other a lot, and enjoy being in each other’s company. They and their children are spending time together, and everything feels perfect, until they begin to have feelings for each other. The problem is that they are straight, or are they? They both have young children who see exactly what is going on, which puts a bright spotlight on the situation. Can Nick and Charlie deal with their new reality? Can they begin their lives anew, this late in the game, and follow their hearts?

lorrainePJ Nevada certainly bought the sunshine into my house on the cold and damp Sunday afternoon that I read this book, it left me with a certain nice, warm glow that reminded me that sometimes the best stories are the simple ones that leave a lasting impression.

Firstly, I must mention the amazing cover, it was perfect for the book – it told the readers exactly what was awaiting them inside – well done Author, an inspirational choice.

I love GFY books, double GFY even better! But this is not a GFY stereotype storyline, both Nick and Charlie had thought about other men before both settling down to married life. Through one tragic circumstance and one more of a celebration than a tragedy, both men find themselves alone and bringing up their children. They were like ships passing in the night when younger, both meeting but circumstances taking them in different directions, now they are in the same town, both single and their children becoming the best of friends.

Can these two, work committed men, who have so much love to give not only to their children, but also to the right person, get past obstacles that seem so insurmountable, but easily conquered if they get it right? Read and find out.

I loved the pace the Author set, the clarity and simplicity of this romantic and sexy storyline was a pleasure to read, it flowed smoothly and kept me engaged throughout. There is no doubt that he knows how to write emotional but lust filled sex scenes.

So why only 4.5*? Hmmmmm….I don’t want to do a spoiler here, so I have to be very careful what I say, so let’s just say, that I thought the Author overplayed his hand slightly in regards to Ethan. Yes, he was an integral part of the plot and I did like him, I understood why PJ took us down the Ethan route the first time, but……again, read the book and see what you think?

Finally, I have to mention the ending, I loved it! PJ showed us just what a true romantic he is and of course, it left an opening for a follow up book- how these two men take their relationship to the next level, how the community around them perceives them and of course, their wonderful children, who added so much depth to this story. So please Author, think about this – think hard!

4.5 sunny stars from me.

TITLE: Made by the vampire

LENGHT: 162 pages
RELEASE DATE: October 1st, 2015

BLURB: An ordinary high school senior, Devon Barnes knew his place as one of the few out and proud gay kids. Picked on by some, he found an ally with one of the football jocks, offering favors when needed. But Devon’s life took a dark turn when his path crossed with a real vampire, a hot sexy gay vampire, who was as hot for Devon as Devon was for him. Faced with threats of real danger, and balanced by the lure of hot sex with his vampire lover, Devon found another love in his life, a mortal, which enraged his jealous vampire lover. How does a mere high school senior handle such difficulties, all while trying to figure out his own future? Or must he follow the prescribed path that his controlling vampire set out for him? In this hot, romantic, and certainly sexually explicit m/m story of erotica, follow Devon’s adventure, laced with just enough blood and gore to make it all very exciting.

lorraineFancy a decent length (no pun intended) YA Vampire erotica? This one may very well settle your thirst. Normally, I don’t do spoilers, but with the obvious title, I’m going to give my self a little bit of flexibility here.

Devon is still in High School and opening gay. He has the hots for the so-called straight quarterback (the way he used Devon, left me with no sympathy what-so-ever to what happens to him), anyway, in the darken lights beneath the bleaches, Devon is blowing him when they are attacked! Devon wakes up in hospital and the life he has known before, no longer exists. Not only has he been changed into a Vampire, he is now the possession and lover to the older Vampire that turned him. At this stage, I was personally surprised at Devon’s acceptance of the whole situation, I don’t think I would be as accepting, however his now hawt body, the way he can influence people’s minds and as much sex with his Vampire lover as he can handle, may have had something to do with it? Yep, Devon’s life was looking good.

The only person who seemed to notice these changes, was his best friend Minerva. Now I really liked “witchy” Minerva and her outlook on life, if the Author ever decided to write a f/m erotica short storyline, she would make a great lead MC – just sayin’.

The unexpected glitch in the Devon/Yorick’s sex and blood feast is when another footballer, Tyler, makes his feelings for Devon known. Devon is really into this idea and at first, Yorick is pretty cool with the idea as well. However, when Yorick realises that Devon may have actual feelings for Tyler, the tempo changes dramatically. Yorick makes it pretty clear to Devon that he is HIS and HIS alone – a ménage is definitely not on the menu but Tyler’s blood definitely is!

So how exactly do you eliminate a 200 year old Vampire? Or, is the easier option to drain Tyler and continue the blood/sex extravaganza with Yorick when Devon goes to College, where fresh meat and blood will be readily available? Read to read out what Devon decides.

Enough spoilers, in summing up, the Author delivered a roller-coaster of a ride, twists and turns on every page, never really sure which way the Author was going to go with his story? The sex scenes were well written and quite explicit, which is what I would expect in an erotic storyline. Overall, 4* from me.
